For this, I think it won’t matter. They can embed in the South, but Israel will have the run of the North and can clean up that place once and for all.
THEN, they can offer the civilians safe passage back to North Gaza, while sifting out Hamas, with the definition of Hamas being any male between ages 10 and 75.

I do not think so. You have to understand the evil logic behind the tactic of terrorism. Its purpose is not to defeat or intimidate the opponent directly. Rather, the purpose is to provoke an overreaction which would cause public opinion to turn against the original targets of terrorism. I think that the goal of Hamas is to provoke the Israelis to launch an attack on Gaza. They would then want the civilian population to stay, not as shields but as deliberate victims in order to turn public opinion against Israel: pure evil.

If they are shooting at you, they become dead Hamas. Anyone unarmed is a civilian, even if they are Hamas. Everyone there is likely Hamas.

Any "civilians" still in the north are Hamas. That makes target identification so much easier.
Eight-year-old girls can still carry small boxes of ammunition for their older brothers to use. They can also pull a trigger to detonate IED's. That makes them legitimate targets of war. Our guys saw children used as combatants in Iraq. The Israelis will see this in Gaza. It leaves an indelible mark.
Some true horrors of war have yet to be displayed for us. And we are not prepared for them.
That right there is all that anybody needs to know in order to differentiate Hamas and its fellow Arab terrorists on the one hand, from Israel and the west on the other. The terrorists worship death, and don’t give a rat’s ass about their own people. Israel, on the other hand, warns the people from whom the murderers of its own people come, to get out of the way because war is coming to their territory - it doesn’t want innocent deaths, even on the side of its enemies. That the Israelis care deeply about their own people, every single one of them, is beyond question. It’s not even a new story, everybody knows it.
What we are dealing with is a thoroughly evil death cult. As much as it pains us morally (because of the innocents who will die), we must back Israel and its efforts to destroy these monsters, because to fail to do so is to invite more acts like what happened to Israel on Saturday.
With water, food, and electricity shut off, a little patience might be warranted. Shell any generators.
They want Gaza casualties so they can boo hoo over them and blame Israel. Civilian casualties will be THEIR fault, NOT Israel’s, who is begging Gaza residents to get out of the way.
