Apparently Israel knows exactly what is inside containers Iran is shipping to Syria but doesn't know what their closest enemy Hamas is up to right along their own border.

Absolutely correct. Iran has been arming terrorists through Damascus for years. The strikes are precision, targeting only arms.
Israel had intel that a top Iranian mullah was going to be landing at Damascus airport. So the Israelis bombed it before this Honcho arrived. This scarred this Mullah off and away. His airplane turned around midair, back to Iran without ever landing in Syria.
Yes, glad somebody keeps an eye on these things. The Iranians pop out everywhere.
