"No phrase represents more of a hope over experience triumph than the phrase 'Middle East Peace Process'. A close second might be the once fashionable notion that Israel should trade land for peace.
Since everybody seems to be criticizing Israel for its military response to the rockets being fired into their country from the Gaza Strip, let me add my criticisms as well.
The Israelis traded land for peace, but they have never gotten the peace, so they should take back the land."

I have heard reports that Iran ordered the attack because Saudi Arabia was just about to sign a peace treaty with Israel. A peace treaty between Iran's sworn enemy and Israel would have really hurt Iran's place in the mohamedan world. This attack was meant, at least partially, to scupper such a treaty. Who knows what Saudi Arabia might do, if Israel now tried Dr. Sowell's solution?
“I have heard reports that Iran ordered the attack because Saudi Arabia was just about to sign a peace treaty with Israel.”
Hamas ordered the attack for the reason you stated I believe.
I suggest that a buffer zone be created at the perimeter of Gaza so that similar future surprise attacks are not likely.
Perhaps 10 feet for each Israeli killed and 10 feet for each Israeli raped.
The buffer would be about 900*10 feet and would not have structures or other visually obstructing objects on it.
Palestinians could grow select vegetable crops up to a few feet high on it - tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, etc.
But that would mean they would have to actually WORK! Never gonna happen!
IIRC, when the Israelis gave up the land, included were orchards, farms and huge greenhouse, and industrial plants and equipment. They destroyed all of these productive, capital assets, because they had been Jewish assets.
The Syrians, Egyptians, and Jordanians have all kicked them out of their lands for being trouble makers. No Arab country wants them, and it’s easy to see why!
They shouldn’t stop until they obtain an unconditional surrender and annex the territory.
The buffer zone should be the Mediterranean.
They HAD an agreement, then let Biden know and he came back with - hold on, Israel should give the Palestinians more land or they will not get my blessing. And that was the end of that.
Right, but Ukraine should trade land for peace. Idiocy
It’s time to trade peace for land.
I recall Genesis 12:1–3, where God promised to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse her. Someone must have torn out the page where God said He would bless those who bless a corrupt Ukraine regime.
Perhaps you could show me such scripture?
And the US, which is also not mentioned in scripture? People and countries have the right to defend themselves, whether they are named or not named in scripture.
Yes, they do however, why are MY tax dollars being used to prop up a corrupt, tranny-loving, dictatorship? Especially one that my country, and the West, have no stake in.
Israel is a DEMOCRACY, Ukraine is most certainly not!
Right, spending 5% of our military budget to destroy 50% of the Russian military, who is our enemy, is not a worthwhile goal and a warning to China?
Israel is a DEMOCRACY, Ukraine is most certainly not!
Wrong, Zelensky won the 2019 presidential election with 73% of the vote. Ukrainian elections have been free and fair. Harping about a country not having elections while being invaded is just silly.
“Zelensky won the 2019 presidential election”
The same way Biden won the 2020 Presidential Election?
LOL, no, since the Zelensky's win was overwhelming, more like Reagan's 1984 win.
peace process is going on since ever!
At least since 1948, but even before.
And it never accomplished anything!
It will never be solved, especially by giving “land for peace”.
One side, hopefully Israel, has to just win, and then that would be it!
bump to the top
