Kind of like Iraq, Nigeria, and India. Nations created by those who seek to control regions of the world by mixing multiple ethnic, religious, and racial groups who have millennia of strife and tribal violence.

By your definition, you need to include the U.S. also. As far as I can tell the Democrats were responsible for that. Of course the Democrats loved the Soviet Union before it became Russia again.
