Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) released a statement Thursday condemning the Biden administration’s decision to waive 26 federal laws, which will allow border wall construction to commence in Texas.
“The Biden administration was not required to expand construction of the border wall — and they certainly were not required to waive several environmental laws to expedite the building,” the congresswoman said in her statement. “The President needs to take responsibility for this decision and reverse the course.”
“A wall does nothing to deter people who are fleeing poverty and violence from coming to the United States,” Ocasio-Cortez said in her statement. “Walls only serve to push migrants into more remote areas, increasing their chances of death. It is a cruel policy.”
The New York congresswoman said the country needs to reevaluate the root of migration and how policy affects Latin America. She said the country has to “finally invest in meaningful immigration reform.”
Ocasio-Cortez has been an outspoken advocate for immigration reform, as New York City has seen a recent influx of migrants arriving in the city.

Blame Mexico
They are allowing ingress of and to their country and violating their own laws of sovereignty, while also enabling transportation, housing and feeding so they can travel over 1,000 miles through their country.
They will arrest, prosecute and jail an American Marine for accidentally entering and attempting a u turn back to the United States , while allowing millions of aliens, who are illegally in their country, unimpared passage.

If he does build wall, then he should get credit for it.
I am glad there is going to be more wall put up, but it is the least effective of the methods to deter illegal immigration.
Setting the wrath and fury of the federal govt on any company caught hiring illegals will do more to deter illegal immigration than any wall.
If all these invadew are so poor and destitute how do they manage to have full bellies and clean fairly new clothes? Why discard all their belongings as soon as they hit the north side of the Rio Grande!?

No 'real wall' is going to be built by either ratpublicans or rats. These monies will be diverted to send to The Ukraine. Watch. pedoBiden told you a day or so ago that he found funds he could divert as a way around Congress, the next day he suddenly 'wants to build the wall'.
A point everyone seems to be missing is congressional seats and electoral votes are apportioned based on population. NY, Ill, Cal and other blue cities are receiving more and more illegals.
They are complaining, but in the end, when illegals become eligible to vote, blue states are going to demand that they receive more electoral votes than less populated states. This is no random act. This has been well thought out by the left and is part of their playbook.
Folks, we need to keep our eyes on the big picture here. We are not thinking strategic.
