Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) urges his fellow Republicans in the House to get rid of the rule that allows a single member to file a motion to vacate the chair, saying it makes the speaker's job "near impossible." He also says he hopes the Senate will move forward with regular order on remaining appropriations bills ahead of the mid-November government funding deadline.

Talk about an unhinged fury. Anyone else in his position would wait to see what develops. Does Newt think that the next Speaker will not measure up to McCarthy?
Gaetz is an extremely articulate speaker. Maybe Newt doesn’t like the competition and/or it opens memory wounds when he got his oown ass kicked out.
I’ll never listen to him again. He is over.
McConnell just awoke to the new Reality. Everyone who actually pays for government games is nauseated by “Business as usual.”

But I am remembering the story from earlier this week where he took all that money from Sam Punkman-Fried for never-Trumper candidates.
So maybe old Mitch should still shut up.
McConnell is as much the enemy as any Democrat.
McConnell seems not to understand that removal would not take place if the speaker has the necessary support. McCarthy lost his support.
The motion to vacate isn’t the issue. Support is the issue.

I just heard on Newsmax that the rule to vacant the Speakers chair by one single vote has always been that way until Pelosi changed it to a 100 or some ridiculous number.
