This is not breaking news. It is old news. That was then, this is now. RDS as VP makes a lot of sense in certain ways. It is also a lot better than some other possibilities (e.g. Tim Scott). If Trump picks DeSantis the last thing we should do is freak out.

There are lots of MAGA folks that no longer support Trump. Just look at many of the folks that once worked for Trump. Trump has been a trainwreck when it comes to picking people, keeping people, and earning their loyalty. They may no longer support Trump, but they are likely still MAGA. People can be MAGA without kissing Trump’s ring.

I doubt that. I’m sure there are a handful of people to whom that description applies, but most are pretenders who never fully supported Trump in the first place - either voting for him reluctantly or lying about having voted for him.

Only if they’re very stupid. There are a lot of pretenders who grift off of being MAGA but in truth, despise Trump and his agenda. If you support MAGA, Trump is the only logical choice. He’s the only Republican politician who ever took the fight to the left in such an effective way. Just look at who the Biden regime is trying to put behind bars, if you have any doubt.

It is 100% clear Trump has no interest in winning in the fall. He’s bankrupted and divided the party while paying for legal fees. Backed the loser RNC chair who has run the party dry and has done nothing to attract lost voters who have abandoned him since 2018.
I’ll vote for him but see no path unless Biden stays the nominee and does a dramatic face plant on live TV this fall after it is too late for a switcheroo.

While the RNC has spent wastefully, the bigger reason their coffers are dry is that donations have been anemic. You can attribute a good portion of that to DeSantis sucking up $300 million of donor cash for his doomed campaign.
