WASHINGTON, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Dianne Feinstein, a long-serving Democratic U.S. senator from California and gun control advocate who spearheaded the first federal assault weapons ban and documented the CIA's torture of foreign terrorism suspects, has died at 90.

LIKELY NEWSOM WILL APOINT SOMEONE BLACK AND FEMALE (maybe even Barbara Lee the communist congressmemeber from Berkeley or is that redundant?). Pelosi’s daughter was Feinstein’s minder the last few months. Pelosi wants shciff as a reward for being her impeachment buttboy. But newsom wants someone else. The death is a blow for schiff’s chances because Newsom’s appointment will have the advantage of incumbency.
Before we make her saint important to remember some of her biggest accomplishments.

SHE HAD A DRIVER FOR 30 YEARS WHO WAS A CHINESE SPY. WITHHOLDNG AN ACCUSATORY LETTER ON A USSC NOMINEE AND SPRINGING IT ON EVERYONE AT THE HEARING. SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RMEOIVED FROM THE COMMITTEE.
Term limits would help immensely. Also, an up-or-out requirement and maybe mandatory retirement ages based on average citizen lifespan?
Playing devil’s advocate here - perhaps it was to keep her on the Senate healthcare plan. Due to the healthcare prices that she helped drive up, she or her family may not have wanted to get stuck with the bills if she retired.
Need to force it to be a real citizen legislature, perhaps along the Texas model. It doesn’t eliminate all of the crap, but it cuts way down on it.
Political power is control - Feinstein was all about control as all Demorats covet. She would never walk away from that as her years of holding onto that control have shown.

As I have been reminded by the sudden and sharp declines in fortune of a couple of my older clients recently, just because you are worth multiple millions of dollars does not actually mean your assets are in liquid form. You can be worth $45 million and be bouncing checks on your empty bank account. I’m kind of wondering if that might be the case with Feinstein after that recent issue with her husband and the gay prostitute - it was really interesting how they didn’t use their money to make it go away instantly. Perhaps it was because they weren’t able to?

Just goes to show the addictive nature of power. Rather than enjoy her “autumn years” she sat around to torment and control the masses. Now to reflect on her “great” accomplishments. I have to go drain the crapper in the RV and mow the lawn.
In the morally superior (yes!) corporate world she would have retired 25 years ago.
All major companies have mandatory retirement at age 65.
By squatting her behind in the senate for so long she denied younger women (and men?) an opportunity to serve.
There’s one word to describe these “never retire” types: selfish. Preternaturally selfish.
She and the little man played both sides of the China/Tibet/Nepal issue for great profit. He had a pro-Himalaya charity while she schmoozed China, among their activities.
Well they had been wheeling her corpse around in a wheelchair to make sure that vote could count for them.
