The wife of Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., has filed for divorce, alleging he had at least one affair during their marriage.
In the Friday filing at a courthouse in Laurens County, Melody Duncan, who has three adult children with the congressman, accused her husband of having multiple extramarital affairs and leaving their home to live with another woman.
Duncan, who touts himself online as a "strong advocate for life and traditional family values," has been married to Melody since December 1988.
The filing, which came around noon on Friday, listed Duncan's paramour as Liz Williams, who is reportedly a lobbyist in the Washington, D.C. area.

Not an excuse. If you have no self control, then you should be unmarried.
A mistake is forgetting to bring home bread and milk.
Leaving the marital home to move in with the side chick is pretty deliberate. đ
Washington, DC is notorious for breaking up families. Unless they work in your office, you never get to see your spouse or kids, and you’re surrounded by interns and assistants all day. Pols get lonely and you have social climbers. Before all the young women worked there, pols would get drunk all the time to console themselves (alcoholism was an epidemic for both parties). You should only go to DC if you’re single, because it is almost a guarantee it will wreck your marriage.
Never heard of this fellow and know nothing more than the scant facts that are emerging in this story.
I do not condone adultery. It was not acceptable for Bill Clinton, its not acceptable for this fellow, nor would it be for this fellow’s wife, if she were engaging in it.
From the available facts, I am not sure this is the most likely instance to be the handiwork of David Brock, but I know he is working to subvert the GOP majority in the House with this kind of revelation.
With this fellow from SC, and perhaps from a strong district - maybe it is not flirting with a turnover.
Sticking your dick in someone who is not your wife is not a mistake. It is a choice. Quit being a douche bag.
A mistake is forgetting to get milk on the way home.
This is not a mistake but a dedicated lifestyle of lying and betraying and adultery. A thousand decisions for evil. Not a mistake.
Why do men do this?
For fun and profit.
Tommy daschle dumped his wife for a lobbyist and then worked from behind the curtains to lease jet airplanes to fuel other jets...from the company his wife was a lobbyist for
You make very good points.
The story seems kind of disjointed--he had multiple affairs, he had "at least one" affair, he went and set up house with some paramour and left his wife. . . It sounds like a few different stories.
My guess is that some pro-abortion lobbyist was hoping to flip the seat. But if he pulled 97 percent of the vote in his last general election, that's not likely to happen.
When I was a kid, there were a few stories like this about actors and actresses--getting divorced or remarried. But it wasn't general sleaze-channel stuff.
I don't approve of adultery at all (not an original thought), but I'm not hiring the guy to be my neighbor. We're frankly in a war for our country and our lives. As I recall, General Eisenhower didn't behave himself, chastity-wise, either. They kept him because he was winning the war.
My guess is that pro-abort lobbyists are working 24-hour days trying to find or invent as many adulterous pro-life politicians as possible right about now. The war is on.
Notice you never heard this about commies in the news.
I literally cannot comprehend someone of that age throwing everything away because some other flabby, ageing lonely loser paid attention to you. But that type of person is exactly the kind of person I think goes into politics.
The Bible allows divorce, if a spouse has opted out by withholding affection from the other spouse.
Your response makes it seem to me that you might be a woman because you believe that a man who does not get affection at home does not give him a reason to respond to a woman who does give him affection, when he’s starving for it.
It’s easy to say that spouses should be committed to each other, but try saying that when your spouse has opted out of the marriage for years on end.
Another hit piece on a Trump Republican?
By my count, the targets are:

Mistakes? âOops, I accidentally paired my genitals with the wrong personâs genitals.â Thatâs more than simply a mistake.
Politicians whose extramarital affairs are exposed generally make the news regardless of party affiliation.
Anyways, Trump voters donât care about marital fidelity.
Those against Trump voters don’t care if their ability to divide will result in millions of dead Americans, just like 1930’s Europe.
He was making a hole in some one, Dunkin his Putz
There should e an investigation to determine if he was persuaded to take the lobbyist’s position because of the affair, if so he must go!
