Rupert Murdoch is retiring from the Fox and News Corporation boards, the company is set to announce Thursday morning, making his son Lachlan the sole executive in charge of the global media empire he built from a small local newspaper concern in Australia starting 70 years ago.
The elder Mr. Murdoch will become chairman emeritus of the two companies, according to a person with knowledge of the change.
Brian Stelter, apparently still obsessed with Fox News, was the first with the clip of the announcement over on Fox:

Trump needs his own Cable TV station—his own newspapers and media. To get out the truth. I know just the man to head it too—Tucker Carlson. or maybe Glenn Beck? Soros bought all the newspapers in Maine—he might be on to something. The right needs a new William Randolph Hearst. When Fox fires Hannity you know they are done.
