Putin Seeking Quick End to Ukraine War, Turkey's Leader Hints
Newsweek ^ | Sept. 20, 2023 | Ellie Cook

Russia expected to finish off its invasion of Ukraine within a week and a half, making sweeping gains in the initial days of the invasion that started on February 24, 2022.

But this failed to materialize in the face of what experts called Ukrainian defiance that took the Kremlin by surprise. Western analyses have also suggested that Moscow made a number of crucial mistakes in the early phases, including how it used its tank crews, sustaining heavy losses of experienced personnel...

Russia currently controls about one-fifth of Ukraine's internationally recognized territory. Kyiv's ongoing counteroffensive, which began in early June, has rolled back some Russian positions in the annexed south and east of the war-torn country, but progress has been slower than Ukraine, and its supporters, had hoped...

How is that Ukrainian counteroffensive going? Four months, 72,000 dead for less than one square mile?

Moral equivalence is intellectually lazy and has been a favorite refuge of the American hating left for generations. Conservatives are better than that. Or at least we use to be.

My friend, be careful -- your ignorance is showing!

Call it moral equivalence or whatever woke term of the day you wish to use, but how about responding to the question/points?

The issue is Putin, who is fully supported by a great majority of his citizens, faced an existential threat. That threat was quite obvious to any fool who could rub more than two brain cells together (probably rules you out).

Putin acted to protect his country and his people from what was an obvious threat (for all the reasons I described).

Now you may not like it, but the example of our invasion of Cuba clearly illustrated that concept. How did we respond? What would you have done in 1961? I know. Turn the other cheek and forget about it.

Our actions may be a good reason we are not speaking Russian today, and you call it "moral equivalence."

What a joke!

Get over it, fool.

"The issue is Putin, who is fully supported by a great majority of his citizens, faced an existential threat."

So a country that I am assured is a big powerful nuclear wielding nation with more weapons and a more healthy economy than the entire West combined, was threatened by a basket case nation that depends entirely on human trafficking and bribes from Biden?

Excuse me.

I assume you didn't learn how to read. What I described was threats from the US/NATO, who have used up the Ukes like little bitty pawns.

You know. Like we did in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., where thousands upon thousands lost their lives while we played in the jungle or sandbox. Only this time, it's not some little third-world country we're fighting -- it's the Ruskies, and they are winning against the so-called most powerful military in the world.

If you are so stupid to believe that Putin is fighting the Ukes and not the might of the US/NATO (and winning), then you are quite the fool, my friend.

Please name the divisions, battalions, airwings, etc. that are engaged in the Russia/ Ukraine war.

You are quite the jokester!

After listening to the likes of Biden and NATO spokespeople tell us for the last two years of the Ukie troops they trained for over eight years, and continue to hype that to this day, the numerous game changer weapons like HIMARS, souped-up tanks, javelins, storm chaser missiles and $200 billion in support you mean to tell me that the Russians ARE NOT fighting the US & NATO.

You are either an idiot or a fool -- or both.

Maybe you're Biden. That's it, you're Biden. A senile old fool.

We get it.

If you say something, back it up. I am tired of people here just spouting off their feelings and treating it as fact. I always hear how liberals are the ones who only go by feelings, but here on FR, everyone is opinion, no one is facts. I thought adults were able to control their emotions and deal with reality, not emote like toddlers and treat their feelings like they were the things that determine reality. Getting angry and name calling does not make something true.

He could have had a quick end a long time ago if he did not invaded a sovereign country in the first place! How about he just gets the hell out now!

Me too.

But if you are not aware, this is a proxy war with Russia, as evidenced by the so-called mainstream media and our lying government that does nothing but promote all the stuff we've given to Ukraine, including billions upon billions we don't have, on a daily basis, then God help you.

And if you are so naive to believe we don't have advisors acting as key advisors in Ukraine or we don't regime change governments covertly and militarily, then you're the kind of person who buys bridges to nowhere.

Frankly, it's an insult to any thinking person for you to sit there on your keyboard and make those outlandish claims.

You probably believed that: Hunter Biden's laptop was simply Russian disinformation, or that Trump colluded with the Russians, or that Trump had hookers pee on his hotel bed in Moscow or that Iraq had WMDs, or that we won in Afghanistan and not one single American was left behind when we bailed out. I think I see how your brain works (or doesn't work).

You may live under a rock if you don't believe we are in a war with the Russians -- but please don't accuse me or most people who think for themselves of being under that rock with you.

The absolute cognitive dissonance. How you could write that without seeing the contradiction. You feel you know how I thought of those issues?

Go find the quotes. You anti-Ukraine posters are certifiably brain dead.

WOW! I didn't know I hurt your feelings. I really hate that you are "so tired" and triggered.

Get back on your meds, and I hope you recover soon.
