New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) is facing growing backlash, including a call for her impeachment, following her September 7, 2023, executive order banning concealed carry for self-defense in cities like Albuquerque.
Breitbart News reported that the governor’s order took effect September 8, 2023, and lasts 30 days, after which Lujan Grisham made clear she will revisit the issue and may possibly extend the ban.

Almost. But there’s plenty of rural Democrats who are tired of her high handedness. Her one size fits all covid response pissed off rural counties. Treating Harding (2000 square miles, 630 residents) the same as Albuquerque was idiocy.

It would be nice, but... not likely. Democratic Governors in WI and MI who crushed liberty with relish in their Covid responses, paid no price. Even after being rebuffed by their state Supreme Courts for violating the State Constitution, multiple times.

Removing a NM Gov. is difficult as there aren’t provisions in the state constitution for recall, iirc. Perhaps there are for impeachment. Need clarification.

All of the state’s seven executive offices are held by Democrats. Democrats also hold supermajorities in both houses of the New Mexico State Legislature.”
