Oh, there's no question that Trump is a threat. So this makes me wonder what Cheney has in mind by his use of the term "our republic."
It's taking an inordinate length of time for people to understand where the loyalties of the Republican Party truly lie. Someone like Dick Cheney isn't a "Republican in name only." Rather, he's a true Republican, through and through.
Here's a hint: in Dick Cheney's world, the average Republican voter isn't included in his conception of "our republic." That is, you're not part of the "our." And one is a fool for still not realizing that.

Trump has all the right enemies. That includes the handful of deep-staters posing as Freepers who are desperately bashing Trump 24/7. Bunch of America-hating scum.
Cheney might think Trump is a danger, but I personally think the Congress and Bush-Cheney, Obama-Biden, and now Biden-Harris are the great dangers, as the administrative state and its militarism tried successfully to tie the Trump four years up in Russia-gate (Schiff-"other" Cheney-et al.) and more.
So it seems that Cheney's outburst is the gasp of a dying political class which has now mired the nation in an unpayable debt, but wants to up the ante to benefit the few and well-connected.
His daughter's thumping at the hands of the Wyoming voters irritated that class, as does Trump, RFK Jr. and more. I expect even worse from Democrat-RINO consortium before its all over.
Trump must be God’s elect because the rampant hatred from the left and from corrupt rinos is blatantly evident. It is stunning just how vile and hateful even those calling themselves Republicans have been towards the o e man that put his country first and wanted nothing more than a good strong moral country in which we could all be proud.
Its is astonishing how he has brought out the very worst in people who we once thought were solid co servatives but who have since shown to be anything but!
People like Cheney have become a disgrace to this nation by attacking true Republicans and by not going after those who were/are out to destroy the nation.
Well, at least Dick ‘Dastardly’ Cheney got the “Republic” thing right, rather than ‘Our Democracy’.

That’s a ringing endorsement as far as I am concerned.

The first Gulf War was necessary as Saddam invaded Kuwait and Saudi would have been next. Saddam would have then controlled about 30% of the worlds production. That war was about oil. All the more reason to “drill baby drill” here in the USA with our abundant reserves.
The second Gulf War was unnecessary and the deaths of our soldiers are a direct result of Bush II and Cheney. I find it totally implausible that we did not know Saddam had no credible threat of weapons of mass destruction. Bush and Cheney wanted that war and the blood of our soldiers is on their hands.
Afghanistan was another fiasco of Republicans and Democrats alike. Once we killed Osama Bin Laden (hiding in Pakistan) we should have just left. Let them fight amongst themselves as they have done for centuries. If it became a base for terrorism simply bomb the crap out of them as necessary from the air and repeat as necessary. A bomb load of a B52 makes a very large impression on terrorists. Precision weapons that target leaders of terror and their families makes a large impression.
Of course Cheney doesn’t look in the mirror. Maybe some day before he croaks he will be held accountable.
