Former President Donald Trump, as well as South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, former Vice President Mike Pence, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are leading President Joe Biden in a head-to-head matchup, the latest CNN poll found.
The survey asked respondents who they would choose in a series of hypothetical head-to-head matchups, all including Biden and various GOP candidates.
Trump, the clear leader in the Republican primary race, leads Biden in a head-to-head matchup by one percent, or 47 percent to 46 percent. Notably, Trump’s lead is within the ± 3.6 percent margin of error.
However, the former president is far from the only Republican candidate besting Biden. In fact, the survey found some of Trump’s challengers performing even better than him against Biden.
Haley, for instance, leads Biden 49 percent to 43 percent — a lead well outside of the margin of error.
Biden trails both Pence and Scott by two points, as both see 46 percent to Biden’s 44 percent.
Christie leads Biden by two points, 44 percent to Biden’s 42 percent, and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is tied with Biden at 47 percent support.
While the survey shows Biden edging out anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy by one point — 46 percent to 45 percent — that is still a virtual tie, well within the survey’s margin of error.

“It’s possible that Biden can lose to anyone. It’s all so possible that he stands the best chance against Trump.”
Obviously...the problem is that everyone running, other than Vivek, HATES Trump supporters - and I cannot see how a Republican can win a Dog Catcher Election, much less the Top Job without Trump supporters voting for them.

ROTFLOL!
best laugh of the week!
how in the heck can people like scott, haley, christie and pence, who barely register with GOP primary voters supposedly beat biden in the general? especially ridiculous is the notion that one-time SC gov, haley, and SC senator scott, whom most americans have never heard of, could beat biden ... if that was even close to possible, then a ham sandwich could beat biden ...
Must everything you post be a screed against Trump? Give it a break already.
Do you post anything positive about DeSantis?
Remaining Trump supporters= the Republican base. Maybe you’re the one that’s been played.
LOL. Polls, schmolls.
Despite many of Trump supporters on FR saying Trump is not a Republican, we all make up the Republican base as I doubt that there is anyone on FR that will vote Democrat. Anyway, the Republican base comprises of supporters of all of the Republican candidates, so we should place nicely together because who knows who we might be voting for in November 2024.
Yep, and did you say that when polls were posted saying Trump had impossible leads? Or what did you say when Trump whined about poll results?
>> Must everything you post be a screed against Trump?
He’s a NeverTrumper “influencer” wannabe. So, yeah, basically, “No Trump 24/7” with this one.
Love your tag line. FRegards.
Uh, if you monitored the enemedia much, you’d find that at various times Haley has had quite a bit of exposure, mostly as UN Ambassador. OTOH, I tend to agree with you about Scott, although most of what exposure he has had has been more recent. Christie gets both displeasure from conservatives for not being conservative, and flak from all over due to suspicion of corruption, but amongst the general population he does have name recognition.
That said, to some degree I suspect these poll numbers reflect a growing unease that Biden is simply incompetent, and a not-brain-dead moderate with proven administrative skills likely looks pretty good to moderates, in comparison to Biden. ...Not quite an “anything but this would be better”, mindset, but, along that line.
Thanks!
>> we all make up the Republican base
There’s that “we” crap again! NO “WE” DON’T MAKE UP THE REPUBLICAN BASE!
I am part of the rising Ekklesia. We make up the Truth and Righteousness Base. That’s **WAY** different than the “Republican Base”. President Trump, for all his character flaws, has done more for Christianity worldwide, more for Jews worldwide, than **any** president since maybe Reagan.
Go to your Bible — if you have one — and research the “character flaws” of Abraham, Jacob, David, Gideon, Samuel... St. Paul... St. Peter... etc etc. Although imperfect, all were powerful MEN OF GOD, because GOD LOOKS UPON THE HEART and raises up imperfect men for His purposes.
NONE!!! of your laundry list of midgets has 1/10 of President Trump’s Lionheart. Nor do they have 1/10 of the LORD’s favor upon them with which President Trump has been anointed.
Haley isn’t even a Christian... nor is Ramaswamy. They worship a false pagan god.
And Biden? The rest of the DemonRats??? THey worship satan himself.
Discount the spiritual influence in the 2024 election at your own peril and grief.
I just checked, my neighbor’s dog beats PedoPete in a head-to-head poll.
He’s a good dog FWIW! Not that he’d have to be.
He cannot expand past his narrow MAGA base, within the GOP, which is fiercely behind him, but in the General Election, it is a completely different story. Cannot win without a healthy share of moderate Republicans who might otherwise stay home or cross over to Sleepy, then a huge portion of independents, and finally some disaffected Demoncrats. I just do not see the math for it, I do not see the broad coalition to move past the limited MAGA base, to address all Americans, just like last time. Like it or not, venture out of the silo and see, that Free Republic is probably reflective of no more than 35% of the American people.
As far as I can see, the individual expressed an opinion, did so in a reasoned way, as not disrespectful or called names, was polite about it, and did not insult any other FR member, therefore in compliance with Free Republic rules and the desire of the founder. Is there some kind of problem here?
I don’t support his or her candidate but does not mean I should not listen respectfully.
The opposite might be offered with respect to the intersection of MAGA Cultists (one man on a white horse will somehow solve all of our American problems, and only him), and Kim Jong Un/Xi Jing Ping-allied Putinpuffers. So yes, it goes both ways.
Then the ratpublican party dies a fitting and grisly death.
Says the fool backing the establishment’s main puppet!
