Nice of the transit worker to help out.
Folks who try to help out in NYC often end up jailed by the DA or knifed by the attacker.
Someone who chooses not to help might well have that in the back of his mind.

Honestly, in her defense, what was she going to do but get hurt, unless she’s armed.
Also, she’d, probably, get fired for interfering.
