New York City education officials were scrambling Tuesday to get as many migrant kds registered before the start of school in two days.
About 19,500 kids currently live in temporary housing — most of them asylum seekers — according to recent numbers released by City Hall — and most have been enrolled since 2022.
With public schools set to open on Sept. 7, the Big Apple is moving into the next phase of the humanitarian crisis: finding room, money, and teachers to handle the influx of children who speak more than a dozen languages.
At a Long Island City Holiday Inn-turned-shelter, Yohanna Silva, 46, said her 11-year-old son was registering for the 7th grade at the Queens’ Academy for New Americans, a middle school located inside Astoria’s PS 234.

Gotta get them into the Propaganda Mills many American parents are abandoning
The tax bill is rather incredible. I’ve seen various per pupil dollar spend for NY schools. They are all north of $18k. Do the math. It ain’t pretty. But that’s not the worst of it. You are paying for it. NYC schools receive a significant amount of their funding from federal tax dollars.
But it’s not replacement migration, no sir, and if you say it is you are a RACIST!
Wait until New Yawk figures out they’re going to have to go out an hire a bunch of Spanish-speaking “teachers”. LOL! And then there’s those pesky Spanish school books. LOL. Welcome to Border Townism New Yawk!
How many of them have proof of required vaccinations? American citizens are not allowed in without proof.
How many of these kids had all their childhood vaccinations? I’ll bet none.
Given how crowded the classrooms will be, this cannot end well.
Their colorful nationalities will add to the marvelous diversity of this unusual city.
Also the crime rate soars and the GPA tanks big time
do they have all their shots?
Why they’re not yours they are Illegals
About five years ago, a friend of mine was hired to teach middle school math at a Virginia public school. He knows math, and he knows how to teach it. Yet he was fired at the end of his first year.
Why? His class scored miserably on the state math exams. It wasn’t because he was a bad teacher. It was because half his class spoke no English.
His principal sympathized, to an extent. “We’ve got to do something to explain the poor scores. So the superintendent decided to fire a few teachers. Sorry about that.”
My friend is now working for U-Haul. He makes less money there, but he’s happier.
Wow! My dream is that all the U-Haul vehicles and trailers will be returned on the southern bank of the Rio Grande as everyone goes home.
Illegal Aliens ... Wheeeeee ... more free stuff ... Thank you Joe Biden
Follow the bucks. They get Federal subsidies for every student enrolled in the schools. The NYC public education system is a colossal failure. Sixty percent of the high school “ graduates” are functionally illiterate and are totally inept in math. The whole system is nothing more than an employment and baby sitting racket.
The entire NY City public school system rejoices over this. It give them and union bosses more money, fills schools that are increasingly empty, keeps union teachers employed, and even requires more of them.
Migrants are not kids. Migrants’ kids should be in school in country of origin. Illegal aliens take their kids with them.
Look for measles, mumps, chicken pox etc etc — and maybe some TB — to surface in the NYC schools, real soon. Plus none will get the Vaxx shot, and spread the Covid crap.

State and federal money jackpot $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Just wait for a couple of months. School budgets will be exhausted by New Years.
Of course, Texas/AZ have dealt with this for a couple of years. But these northern school districts are going to die.
Here in MA, our stupid Gov has called out the National Guard to held register these kids for school. I don’t know about eastern MA, but the schools here in Western MA are funded through property taxes. Thank God we do not have the types of housing that can support immigrants like that. Your taxes are high enough. I am not sure how a Cambridge or Brookline is going to absorb those kids at $5-7k per kid. (or higher.)
