Civil Rights is a Federal issue and denying a baby the right to birth in a clear violation of that baby’s civil rights.
The counter argument would be that denying a woman the right to a medical procedure is a violation of HER civil rights. You see how that works?

Abortion is a moral issue - and nearly anytime the federal government gets involved in moral issues, it results in disaster.

Allowing the states to decide how they choose to deal with it is the best way forward for the Republicans. IMO.

McCarthy can definitely bring the impeachment to the floor. But I suspect he hasn’t yet because he doesn’t have the votes. It’d be extremely embarrassing to have the impeachment hearings and it be voted down. In fact, it’d be a disaster.

He’s also the same man who chose, and got confirmed, the Supreme Court Justices who would help to overturn Roe v Wade nearly 25 years later. I know that has to pain a NeverTrumper like you!

Abortion is not a moral issue, it is an issue of life and death and federal civil right laws can be used against all who violate the civil rights of an unborn child.

“All conservative measure will be lost, everything over abortion. I don’t like it but it is a losing position and it’s only going to get worse. We need to accept it, otherwise we will lose everything.”

What are these “conservative” measures that will be lost ?

I suspect there are a enough RINO’s in the House who would vote against impeachment to defeat it. I bet they are the same people who likely did or would have voted to actually impeach Trump.

We have no real opposition or fighting party. We are on our own......right now.

The GOP is not 100% pro life. They are on the fence. For 50 years they’ve been on the fence. They run on pro life then they get into office and pfft. Then they run again pro lif.

You want to talk about the Lucy van pelt football fake? GOP voters are the worst

Here’s the issue

No one who is in favor of artificial birth control is against abortion

Just think about that for a minute. BC is 83 to 93% effective depending on the plan/device

What do people think they’re going to do in the 7-17% cases of failure? Get married and raise the cold together? Go ahead and have the child if they’re married or living together? What is the percentage of yes? Small

Abortion is back up in most cases. Without abortion birth control is not feasible. That’s what this fight is mainly about

How many people depend on BC? Every kid that you see who refuses to get married, set a date, for starters.

What Mace is saying is no politician wants to be interpreted as saying “change your lifestyle”

GOP voters say they’re pro life. But. No.

I get that. But you’ve just proven my point about the value of having a “Republican” majority.

There may have been times when Democrats failed to stick together like this, but I can’t remember any. What the hell is wrong with the Republican party?

(Hint: they all feed at the same trough)

Nancy Pelosi has her methods of dealing with reluctant Democrats.

Notice that Republicans are strong and firm—when it comes to defending the special interests of their big donors.

“War, war, war....gotta have war....”

Republicans are consistly strong in promoting war. Dems are pit bulls about war when their party is in the WH.

She is correct. Pro abortion voters are numerous and completely one issue centered. The pro lifers were already 100% Republican. Now, the airheaded 18-35 year old women who didn’t vote are flocking to the polls. You can guess who they will not vote for.

With respect to the abortion issue, from what I see in polls at least, you are right. Well, actually, the RINOs are perfectly reflecting the sentiment of the Republican voters.

A center-right nation no more...

A little off topic—but I watched this long and detailed discussion on CSPAN about JFK’s Vietnam policy.

They now have access to NSC meeting notes, audio tapes, many memoirs, public statements by insiders etc etc etc.

We now know (no longer speculation, now absolutely certain) exactly what that policy was....

and it was really really complicated—but the bottom line was to do one thing and tell the Congress and the public something substantially different.

That general rule was then continued under LBJ.

Of course the establishment “scholars” donned their kneecaps and argued that this was in “the national interest” but at the end of the day it was....

Lies, lies and more lies....

If the Republicans announce that we're pro-choice, we take away that issue from the Democrats.

Previously, that voting bloc didn't show up to vote in great numbers. But now their turn out is very high and it will remain that way as long as abortion is an issue.

With aborts and pro-abort republicans here in PA, no republican will win national election.
