Rep. Nancy Mace says Republicans in swing districts are ‘walking the plank’ because of abortion restrictions

GOP Rep. Nancy Mace has a warning for her party about some efforts to restrict abortion without exceptions – and how it could affect moderate House Republicans on whom their narrow majority depends.

“I think they’re walking the plank,” the South Carolina Republican told CNN’s Dana Bash in an interview that aired Sunday, when asked if members in moderate districts like hers are doomed.

“I’m pro-life. I have a fantastic pro-life voting record, but I also understand that we cannot be a**holes to women,” said Mace, who has been vocal about including exceptions for rape in measures to restrict the procedure.

The two-term congresswoman went public about her own experience of rape during an abortion debate in the South Carolina state house before coming to Congress. “Being the victim of rape, you don’t ever get over it,” she told Bash, noting how the experience has affected her and her outspoken advocacy for exceptions.

She’s right. The Republicans are stupid for trying to nationalize the Abortion issue just as the Dems were stupid to do so on the other side of the issue. Leave it to the States and keep the federal government out of it.

Right now the US federal government has absolutely no business trying to tell the local jurisdiction where I live what it can or cannot do about the Abortion issue. Only fanatical warmongers would want the US federal government to get involved on it here.

Look at the whole world. If a woman in a blue state wants an abortion then she’ll be able to travel somewhere and get it. You aren’t going to be able to change that. And the same could be said about women in red states too.

The Republicans face a ceiling of about 53 Senate seats and 225 House seats if they stay the course on nationalizing the abortion issue at the federal level and then the trend will go against them. The more likely outcome is about 48 Senate seats and 210 House seats as their ceiling.

If the Republicans will leave the abortion issue to the States then they can win an extra 4-8 seats in the Senate and 15-30 seats in the House. And you can bet that the Senate will never confirm someone like Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, or Barrett ever again if the Dem’s control the Senate.

When any Republican says they want to nationalize the abortion issue then you know they are really a secret cheerleader for the Democrats or they are just stupid.

All conservative measure will be lost, everything over abortion. I don’t like it but it is a losing position and it’s only going to get worse. We need to accept it, otherwise we will lose everything.

The Republican Party's platform should be pro-choice.

Then move on.

Otherwise, we'll end up in an Orwellian Totalitarian State ruled by the Democrats.

48 Senate seats and 200 House seats at this rate. (Either by '24 or '26)

Well, you know, we just must let the people sacrifice the children to Baal. They just won’t be happy otherwise.

Some women have to travel to get an abortion—the hardship, the horror!

Not even the exception of an ectopic pregnancy? Then they both die.

In a decade the Republican “spokespeople” will be defending concentration camps for white people—because they need to do it to win swing districts....

“Kevin McCarthy sucks. But things can get much worse. We’re not there yet. “

You’ve got a point, there.

If Dems take over, the Jan6 tapes won’t be released, Biden won’t be impeached, Garland won’t be impeached, the Dems will pass unlimited Debt Ceilings, DOJ abusive prosecutions will continue to be funded, FBI won’t be penalized, insane EPA rulings on gas stoves, ceiling fans, air conditioners, EVs won’t be limited...

Hey, ... wait a minute...!

Exactly my point. Then how much worse off would we be?

Democrat vs RINO...

If McCarthy antes up enough of a pair to bring an impeachment vote against Biden I’ll revise my position. Otherwise the value of having a majority seems to be lost on me.

I’ll tell this knucklehead something. If she thinks that 2024 is going to be about abortions, she might want to think again. 2024 is going to be about African people with black skin getting “reparations” and whitey get the shaft up the ying yang. PERIOD.

I think it was very foolish to start pushing a bunch of Abortion restrictions after the recent overturn of Roe.

Things were moving in our direction, and a little patience would have gained us more than this breakneck effort to start throwing out restrictions on it.

Now we are seeing setbacks when the current status quo would have been preserved simply by doing nothing.

Imagine Rep. Nancy Mace’s surprise... when God makes her walk His plank on Judgment Day for being “lukewarm”.

That seriously would not surprise me in the least. We already have had worthless RINO’s for nearly 30 years defending open borders because to secure the border is “racist” not just in Democrats’ minds but theres as well. It’s the next logical step.

Until the Republican Party shows the cajones to really fight back against the Democrats then they’ll always be their lackeys instead of their conquerors!
