Israel spending American money on private companies in America isn’t exactly a selling point. We have no money and shouldn’t be giving it to any foreign nation.
A topic for another thread. The issue is whether we should end aid to Israel, not end foreign aid.

It looks like a laundering scheme of our taxpayer dollars to big U.S. weapons manufacturers. We give them taxpayer dollars, calling it aid, and they launder it back by buying military equipment from the civilian military-industrial complex.
I don’t disagree.
There’s also a slightly crony capitalist reason for the vast majority of the aid and what it is spent on.
My country has a very advanced aerospace industry and is quite capable of making 5th or 6th generation fighters.
Much of the aid is targeted and conditioned on our not developing such equipment so as to prevent a competitor to USA fighters.
Basically, it’s “here’s some F35s so you don’t make something better or cheaper and squeeze us out of the market.”
