Poll: Ron DeSantis at just 5% support with Republicans under the age of 55

New polling released after the GOP presidential debate shows an age gap when it comes to Ron DeSantis supporters.

A Léger survey conducted Wednesday and Thursday in conjunction with the New York Post shows that while DeSantis has 9% support overall (52 points behind Donald Trump, but in second place nonetheless), there is an age gap.

Voters 54 years old or younger are much less likely to back the Florida Governor’s 2024 bid for the Republican nomination than those 55 and up.

Among voters 18 to 34 years of age, DeSantis’ 5% puts him behind Mike Pence’s 6% and in a tie with Vivek Ramaswamy. Trump is at 58% with this group.

Among voters 35 to 54 years of age, DeSantis is still at 5%, putting him 3 points behind Ramaswamy with that cohort, and 59 points behind Trump’s 64% with this cohort.

People hate GOPe. It is just a fact. Align with GOPe and lose.

The GOP is dead as a party. That silly useless debate was proof of how dead the GOP is.

Nothing about any of those participants inspired any young people. They were dead wood.

Only one mentioned was Vivek, and that is because he looked energetic and different.

Where’s your proof of this? Or are you just one of the many parroting BS from the ‘Trump or Die’ crowd?

"For starters, it’s common sense."

To you, perhaps. To those of us watching all this objectively, nothing of the sort.

As for 'strings attached', well, so did Donald Trump. And what strings exactly? Got any proof, besides unsubstantiated allegations?

You are dodging the question, which I asked straight up and on the level. You still have not answered. Biased opinions are not fact. You should already know this.

Desantis is a MUCH better leader than Trump, especially in times like these. I honestly don’t understand the support for someone who is as incompetent and self-absorbed as Trump. What is the appeal?
