Renowned geopolitical analyst Peter Zeihan recently made a startling prediction during an interview with commentator Joe Rogan.
Zeihan believes that China's collapse is imminent, with only 10 years remaining before potential disaster. The crux of his prediction lies in his assertion that China has misrepresented its population numbers, leading him to estimate that the country's actual population is lower by 100 million than what the government has officially reported.
"This is their last decade," Zeihan said of China. When Rogan clarified by asking, So, you're saying that China has 10 years to go?" His response was, "At most."
Some argue that China's massive military, control over its people and economic power are safeguards against its demise, but others point to concerning signs that hint at potential challenges ahead.
China's economy is showing signs of strain from various angles. Civil unrest erupted as a result of its strict zero-COVID policy, leading to lockdowns, reduced industrial output and restrained consumer spending.
Last year, economic growth experienced a significant decline, reaching one of its lowest levels in the past 50 years. The fourth quarter, in particular, was severely impacted by strict economic policies and political decisions that were deemed unwise.
With China's population aging rapidly, there are fewer working-age people to support retirees. The one-child policy, which lasted for more than three decades before ending in 2016, worsened the situation and threatens long-term economic prospects. While China has attempted to address this by allowing couples to have up to three children, the extent of its impact on the workforce remains uncertain.

They’re not saying a 100 million decline, Peter Zeihan is. Whether he’s right or not, I have no idea.
From the excerpt:

If one wants to talk about things happening within the next 10 years, although no one seems to be talking about it and I don’t know whether its of any theological significance, but the 2000th anniversary of the Resurrection happens by then. I know there are different thoughts on the dating of the event, but to the best of my knowledge all who believe it happened would put that anniversary within the next 10 years.
I don’t think China wants US as Chinese citizens. They would rather have us GONE and replaced by REAL Chinese citizens.
As countries fail, they become dangerous.
Red Chinese statistics are notoriously inaccurate. Their financial statements for their publicly traded companies are not prepared according to generally accepted accounting principles. It is really hard to determine what is the actual condition of either the government in China or the major corporations in that country. I agree with Peter Zeihan’s assertive that China has misrepresented their population numbers.
The purpose of the “one child” policy was to get the women into the workforce. Over the short term, this creates economic growth as the women are producing stuff for export.
Over the long term, population collapse leads to bad times.
The US is in the same boat.
Every government lies, all the time. It’s what they do.
For the CCP, China's fractious history and current divisions are part of why Taiwan is such an issue. The CCP believes that all Chinese must bow to central authority lest any renegade group attract enough support to set off another catastrophic cycle of political instability and division.
Meh. With a population of 1.4 Billion, take away 100,000,000 whataya got, a measly 1.3 Billion? The place will soon be empty!
P
Read the book,Dis United Nations. He presents some surprising information regarding many nations and the impact of geography and population for the future.
I get a smile on my face when people talk about new permission to have more than one child. During economic downturns and when things are difficult, the
reproduction rate tanks. It’s too late now.
I’ve seen predictions that China’s populace may decline by half before 2050.
Japan and other nations are experiencing low birth rates.
I don’t believe the WEF needs to take much action at all to see their desires play
out. To bad they have such evil people at the helm.
China’s population could drop by ONE BILLION by 2100. It could fall behind the United States!
100 million in ONE DECADE. By 2100, China could lose ONE BILLION, becoming smaller than the U.S.... and Nigeria!
The US is in half the same boat because most couples had at least two kids and significant number of us bucked the social push and had large families with a stay at home mom, anyway. Because we had the freedom to do so.
Yahoo Finance is excrement.
China has won. America is collapsing.
Population growth and declines both follow exponential rate change patterns which catch most people by surprise.
"Slowly, then all at once", is what really happens.
Your last ironic line may turn out to be correct.
I think Kissinger had something to do with it.
Sacrificing your children (though forced abortions, infanticide) for what?
Short-term economic prosperity and Marxist power.
Demonic
I don’t share your confidence.
China will be fine. It’s not going anywhere. At most it will see recessions just like we do here in the USA and other parts of the western world. China will adjust.
How many thousands of years have been around now?
