You may be on to something. Modern AESA type scanning radars have the ability to precisely target and follow small objects or small areas and put energy on them, one has to wonder just what that might do to storm clouds if applied in the right way. And with the Florida panhandle being a major training and testing region for the military, that is a logical place to carry out such experiments.
A quick glance indicates mostly Zone A, with the exception of Hernando County: Zones A, B, C (All areas West of Hwy 19).
Pasco Co. is encouraging evacuations in Zones B and C.
Looks like our area (Bluffton, SC) will get hit with a lot of rain, and some kind of wind - not sure how bad yet - on Wednesday. We are currently in Connecticut... hope our house in SC doesn't get damaged. We plan to be back there in a few weeks.

We’re in PR but headed there in two weeks.
It seems to be strengthening with a fair portion of the storm over land. I doubt that is a good sign.
I’m still wondering why they named a hurricane after an onion
FL is getting more storms recently than PR. What is that about?
Not quite, or you would be EniIdiIci. :) Somehow, somewhere, that name came up in their efforts to make the names more “fair”.
It was the only way I could remember how to spell/say Idalia. The sweet GA onion without the “V”.
Hope you all stay safe!
Latest Spaghetti models have jogged west a bit, coming in at the Big Bend and further north of Tampa Bay. We are under a tropical storm warning right now in Central Florida.
