Donald Trump has made history by becoming the first former president to pose for a mugshot after his arrest for trying to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia - and he shared the image on X, the platform formally known as Twitter.
The 77-year-old was arrested for the fourth time this year and fingerprinted by authorities at the Fulton County jail.
Unlike with his previous three arrests - in New York City, Miami and Washington DC - on Thursday in Atlanta he had his booking photo taken.
It was his first tweet since January 2021.
Trump's height of 6ft 3 and weight of 215lbs were recorded and, as part of the booking process, he was given a prisoner identification number: P01135809.
He was then released on payment of 10 percent of his $200,000 bail, having spent less than 20 minutes inside the infamous facility.

It seems a significant number of Freepers are oblivious to the danger America is facing.
Okay, so if Democrats like go to jail for their crimes, you would be okay with Trump going to jail?
During the 2020 riots, people were saying that Antifa or George Floyd had just reelected Trump.
Those people mistakenly assumed we still have fair elections.
All this was orchestrated from the beginning:
J6 eliminated 3 leaders of grassroots organizations, i.e. Proud Boys, Oath Takers and one other. These folks would have been a pain in the ass had they not been eliminated.
A complacent and bias media of course went along with it and de-legitimized a movement which questions Joe Biden’s presidency.
Many of the folk that are motivated were intimidated as most protestors were interviewed by Law Enforcement, even those that never entered the capital and did nothing wrong which is unprecedented.
Finally, you connect Trump with a crime somehow and try hard to discredit him or even disqualify him from the presidency if possible.
It’s political chess and theater, with the DOJ being the queen chess piece.
However, I do not believe the Democrats could have imagined this level of support and for this long. That’s the difference between someone that is truly popular and those like Biden who are just styrofoam props for special interests backing them but who the masses really have no love for. God help us if they actually try to eliminate Trump from the ballot through their legalistic/political maneuvering. The DOJ might be proud of their police state, but what will follow if these clowns go through with that is not a door they want to open.
