At the center of the stage, and the center of the debate's hottest exchanges, was a 38-year-old man who no one expected to be there even a few months ago – a novice candidate and technology entrepreneur named Vivek Ramaswamy.
Though he’s well behind Trump, Ramaswamy has crept up in recent polls, leading to his position next to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at center stage. And he quickly showed why when he showcased his ready-for-video, on-message approach, talking about how his poor parents moved to the U.S. and he had the ability to found billion-dollar companies. Mp> Then Ramaswamy tried to show he wasn’t a regular politician and started to throw elbows. At one point he declared “I’m the only person on the stage who isn’t bought and paid for.” He slammed his rivals as “super PAC puppets” who were using “readymade, pre-prepared slogans” to attack him.
He seemed to be betting that primary voters preferred something memorable said to something done. His rivals were having none of it.

Ties to Soros was some financial aid to pay for his college expenses at Harvard. Students get whatever aid they can to attend college. When I was awarded tuition scholarship in my second semester at Univ of Iowa, I do not even remember now who was the sponsor.
Ramaswamy - Born in the USA and over 35.... He’s certainly eligible!
yeah. He is 25 times smarter than me.
I saw that same dynamic. The new Hillary?
What I REALLY would have liked is just a second term of Trump and DeSantis to follow on after that...but that didn’t happen so here we are
The 2020 result was BS but we have to address what happened. Zuccbucks to influence local election officials and media censorship, plus let’s be honest, a lackluster 1st debate with Biden, and our side historically doesn’t vote early (thank goodness that is starting to change) or do legal ballot harvesting which allows Dem games to happen
Getting into nonsense about German servers and other stuff ended up being a total distraction to the real frauds. If Trump pardoned Assange, and not just pardoned him but empowered Wikileaks more, imagine all the disclosure we’d have with COVID and election processes.
You’re completely right that it should be Hillary Clinton, Peter Strozak, and that whole crew being perp walked instead of Giuliani but I got to call it like I see it and I think we need new leadership. Trump’s been the best president of my lifetime but I don’t know if what got us from A to B will be what gets us from B to C. To be clear by NO MEANS am I “never Trump” and I’d still vote for him if he gets the nomination
When did Trump close down Texas other than the two weeks in March, 2020?
Vivek came across like a used car salesman or the guy from teh Ronco ad. He was just too much, and he seemed phony — which, given his record, doesn’t surprise me.
Pence tried to be the stage boss and came across as a jerk. Christie, Pence and Haley (the three RINOS) number one target was Trump, after that Ramaswamy, which is interesting.
Ah, don’t confuse him with details! /s
Snap polls and the betting markets have Vifake down and DeSantis up.
DeSantis was on fire!
She put the rude, jerk youngster in his place.
Burgum did surprisingly well. I don’t see him as president, but I think there is a place for him in the next administration.
Tell me you weren’t watchign without telling me you weren’t watching.
.
Pence has to think there’s some benefit to talking so slowly and pausing so long.
Why the ridiculously long pauses?
There’s just no way he talks that way to the help at his new Mansion.
.
Tht is how he came across.
Yes, I was worried if he’d put it off. He did great, was prepared, even had his perfect closing done in the 45 second limit He’s been working hard to get his campaign tightened up and back on track. Tonight will definitely help.
Scott didn’t get a lot of time and came off as too soft when he did speak.
Gov. Burgum was the clear winner, the others never laid a glove on him.
I could see that. Some kind of role where we just need a good administrator and not necessarily a partisan, like Department of Commerce, someone who can just keep the systems running
