Those who disobeyed the barricaded road closures during the Maui fires survived the disaster, while many of those who heeded orders to turn around perished in their cars and homes with no way out...
At least 114 people were killed in the fires earlier this month, and the FBI is estimating that up to 1,100 more are unaccounted for. Officials are facing increased scrutiny for the emergency response, including why the emergency sirens were not set off and whether closing the roads prevented people from getting to safety.

Officials closed Lahaina Bypass Road due to the fires, blocking the only way out of Lahaina to the southern part of the island.
...
One family swerved around the barricade set up to escape the flames, while another resident took a dirt road uphill to climb above the fire... However, many others who stayed in the cars on that road were stuck in a gridlock, with fires surrounding them on most sides
...
Nate Baird and Courtney Stapleton recounted their experience to the outlet, saying they loaded the car up with their two sons, Baird’s mother and one dog to escape the flames. When they turned south to escape Lahaina, they were met with cones and were told to turn around to Lahaina, which was already burning.
Instead of turning around, they swerved past the cones and escaped to a neighboring town.

they had 10 more minutes, they could have saved children who were left home alone in their neighborhood during the fires.

Did have to sacrifice to Pele first and wait for a sign?
Democrats are mass-murdering scum. Only the beginning.
Those still missing after this much time in such an isolated small area must be nearly all dead, or never there in the first place.
Who gave the order for cops to barricade residents inside the inferno?
And you would get access to a weapon in Hawaii how?
It wasn’t dumb and incompetent.
It was intentional and evil.
Never follow the police. They are just there to hurt you.
As more info comes out, forget about prison, the locals might just burn him at the stake. Or toss him into a volcano, since it is Hawaii.
I’m sure that they will be prosecuted soon. They were supposed to die so they could commandeer their property.
EXCERPTS
Shane Treu wakes early on Aug. 8, and is in his backyard when he hears a utility pole snap next to Lahainaluna Road. He sees the downed powerline ignite the grass, and calls 911 at 6:37 a.m. to report the fire.
Small brush fires aren’t unusual for Lahaina, and the fire department declares this one 100% contained by 9:55 a.m.
Treu’s neighbor Robert Arconado said the fire reignites around 2 p.m. He records video of it spreading at 3:06 p.m., as large plumes of smoke rise near Lahainaluna Road and are carried downtown by the wind.
There are many ways. Most illegal.
Also depends on what is handy and available. Practically anything can be turned into a weapon when your life is on the line.
It’s hard enough to have weapons behind enemy lines here in Southern CA, and I wouldn’t be here if it was as draconian as Hawaii.
You’d be surprised on how many Californians actually are armed, and heavily. Automatic weapons may not be easily “owned”, but that doesn’t stop Americans from possessing them regardless of the “authorities”.
Reminds me of the scene in The Patriot when the British locked the colonists in the church and set it on fire.
>> to clear the island and rebuild it as a private playground for the elites.
Or a sanctuary city for the Elites when the Reset Revolutions break out on the mainland?
I’ve always told my kids, you do not have to listen to 95% of the people who pretend to have authority to tell you what to do. If a stupid person tells you to do a stupid thing, just ignore them and do what you need to do.
“Basic survival instincts seem to have been lost.“
Which makes them stupider than dogs.
A most excellent comment! Authority exists to be authoritive. That is the prime directive. All else pales.

I thought I read somewhere about something suspicious that the police chief was involved in prior to the fires, but I can’t find it now.
I think the police chief was the officer in a command position during the Las Vegas mass shooting years ago that killed so many people.
Somebody in authority in Maui was, I know that.
I read that the electric company had plans to deal with fires after a bad year in 2018(?). New equipment, clearing brush, etc. Instead they spent millions of dollars on “going green”.
I know some will decry my saying that and whine about how I need to trust the system or some such nonsense.
Get bent.
