I’m looking forward to the acquittal. I’m unsure why so many have so little faith in trump.
Too close to the election, sorry jack.
In my opinion that sort of obvious meddling will just be bulletin board material for Trump to use in his campaigning. That holds doubly true even if they try to anti-First Amendment him by telling him not to mention it.
“will take no longer than four to six weeks”
How long does it take to say “Orange Man Bad”?
Smells like election interference.
Jack Smith should be in prison for false charges
He’s a POS
If it’s “not political”, then they would have no objection to postponing the trial until after the election.
What’s the hurry? Trump has been walking free for the last 3 years and the United States has not yet collapsed.
4 to 6 weeks just to present their case.
If you want to put an actual conspirator on trial, it should be Jackass Smith himself with his co-conspirators Garland and Biden, and dozens of others.
Question for FReeper attorneys:
Since Roberts rides herd on the DC Circuit, isn’t it up to him to stop or manage this atrocity?
Trial starts Jan 2. After a month of milking media ratings, conviction handed down in the first indictment Feb 2. Sentencing on the 6th - 20 to life.
This is worst than the J6 Committee
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
A freeper in an earlier Trump indictment thread had posted that federal trials have to get started "promptly." I remember 70 days, correction welcome.
"Trial must commence within 70 days from the date the information or indictment was filed, or from the date the defendant appears before an officer of the court in which the charge is pending, whichever is later." —Speedy Trial Act
Smith ends up in jail or America has no hope
ludicrous
Right to a speedy trial is the defendant’s right, not the prosecution’s.
I read about cases taking years before they go to trial. How the Hell can something as complex as this case possibly start within a year?
BTTT
FBI’s Comey was shy and oh so careful in not letting something influence voters when a candidate named Hillary might be hurt, so he let her go.
NY Times
Apr 22, 2017 — As the F.B.I. investigated Hillary Clinton, James B. Comey tried to keep the bureau out of politics.
Like so many of these Democrat henchmen (excuse me, henchpeople) scurrying around, Jack Smith seems a combination of unfathomably corrupt and unbelievably stupid.
