Former and potentially future President Donald Trump is currently facing three indictments and will likely be facing a fourth in the coming weeks. He'll be dealing with the legal process as he's campaigning for president in the primary and if he indeed becomes the nominee. As Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) discussed in his Friday morning edition of his "Verdict" podcast, it's the Democratic Party's game plan to have Trump engaged in multiple trials going on, so that the headlines will constantly be about Trump, distracting the American people from the widespread bad press that President Joe Biden ought to be receiving.
When justice becomes a tool for politics, democracy suffers.

— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) August 4, 2023 To begin the podcast, Cruz also spoke about news coverage when emphasizing how he believes the indictment is "a political indictment" and "the latest manifestation of the politicization of the Department of Justice where the Democrats, every time there are bad developments, about Joe Biden, about Hunter Biden, they immediately turn around and try to overtake the news cycle with yet another attack on Donald Trump."

Cruz also discussed what we have known for some time now, which is that Biden wants to be facing Trump in the general election. "Number one, they want Trump to win the primary. And they have recognized that every time they indict him, his numbers go up in the Republican primary," Cruz pointed out when speaking to the "political objective" of Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland.

What they are doing to Trump they will do to any non-deep-state Republican candidate going forward. And not just those running for president.
The last thing Ted got right was to leave Canada.
And if the Republican Party as a whole in Congress actually gave a damn, they would motion to vacate the chair and elect Donald Trump as Speaker. Then sit back with POPCORN!!!
Like it or not, television and social media is where a LOT of the public gets its news, opinions and general information. I wish it were not so, but it is. Conservatives need to learn to be competitive on all platforms.
You probably don’t object if a sitting senator gives a conventional speech to a group ranging from a few dozen to a few hundred people. That takes just as much time as a podcast that can be seen by thousands, possibly millions if it goes viral, and that will be available for later viewing until he takes it down.
The podcast, in fact, would take much less time if you factor in the logistics of getting to and from the venue for the speech. The talk has to be written either way. I don’t know how Cruz handles his podcasts. I gather from the article that it is a regular thing. He probably has a regular senior staff meeting to kick around ideas for upcoming speeches, both on and off the Senate floor, as well as podcasts, op ed pieces, and any other forms of communication. His staff probably does a first draft and Cruz, who seems to speak precisely, probably does a close edit. It’s now part of the routine.
So what the heck is wrong with a senator finding a platform? The left very much wants information dominance. The left wants to control all platforms, deplatform people at will, and manipulate algorithms to control what users will see. Conservatives need to be more active, not less, to preserve venues for public engagement and discussion.
Or is Donald Trump the only Republican you think should use twitter/X?
yep, it rings pretty hollow when you consider what Schumer and Pelosi would be doing this was all reversed.
They think they can indict Trump into unelectibility. That’s why they are over-reaching and piling-on, they don’t care if he’s actually convicted as long as they can bleed him financially, distract him from campaigning, and use lawfare to harrass and obfuscate enough that (they think) people will just give up on Trump. If they can stop him from becoming president again by ten thousand paper cuts, that’s fine by them.
“Cruz also discussed what we have known for some time now, which is that Biden wants to be facing Trump in the general election.”
If you really believed this, what was the Russia collusion and impeachments about? Imo this is just a continuation of what they’ve already been doing.
bump
Not really:
“Cruz also discussed what we have known for some time now, which is that Biden wants to be facing Trump in the general election.”
“They think they can indict Trump into unelectibility.”
Sadly, I think that the swamp will tire of his popularity and just off him. They won’t even care who they select to do it. God have mercy on all of us. Please have mercy.
I agree.
What if the platforms censor or ban conservatives?
“Ted gets it right on all counts.”

Agree! Brandon DOES NOT want to face President Trump!
What’s so hard to understand? Do you think the world of politics is static?
When he was in office getting rid of him was the primary Dim goal. It still is, but not until he gets the nomination. He will energize the Dimocrat base beyond description, the donations will roll into the DNC and he won’t have coat tails down ticket. His endorsed candidates will win their primaries and then the fact that they were endorsed by him will bring out the leftards in droves to vote, campaign and donate against them in the general. Those in the deep red precincts will survive but those elsewhere will be SOL.
Trump is the dream opponent to the Dims. He’ll be hobbled by the lawfare, he’s already alienated many independents that he needs, and there are a sizable number of voters that would vote for Freddy Kruger before DJT. We may have a chance holding the House and Senate if Trump will endorse Dimocrat candidates.
He may be able to pull off a win if Bogus POTUS gets us into WWIII and a depression, which Brandon seems to be working hard on doing.
Depressing thing is if Trump makes it as nominee the bad slanderous media and lawfare suits will make him look bad (as before Inauguration Day in 2017). Cruz says that makes him lose the election.
If he doesn’t make it to the nomination then the lukewarm support for the dull candidates makes them like Mondale and Dukakis with no chance to win.
