In the morning I would take my coffee and go down to the Russian River to drink it. Is the Russian River safe to drink?

No.. the Russian River had the special problem of uncovered sewage ponds in Santa Rosa constantly spilling over. I had to buy drinking water the entire time I lived on the river. The town of Guerneville nobody drinks the tap-water. Every month the water company (which was a local joke) was required to send you a notice not to drink it. I don’t know if the problem ever was resolved.. I moved away in ‘85.
