In 2018 the city center featured glass and steel skyscrapers and bumper-to-bumper Toyotas,Kias and various Chinese made cars.
However,even in 2018 if you traveled five miles outside of the city center (as I did going back to Hong Kong) you go back to primitive conditions reminiscent of the 1500s.
What’s the use of freedom when you are getting murdered?
China has a very low murder rate. Huge Chinese cities like Shanghai have super low murder rates
American cities like Ferguson,Baltimore etc have some of the highest murder rates on the planet.
The lack of freedom is causing high suicide and burnout rates in Red China; it can’t be termed a success when most people would leave if given the opportunity..
Have you seen the very real videos of construction failures in Red China? Even their leaders have to speak out against the corruption in their construction industry, and they routinely jail the officials who signed off on the projects. Look up “tofu dregs China” on YouTube; you’d be appalled. The building and road collapses are real, and people die. Workers easily snap pieces of rebar, and in one of my favorites, workers are filling a hole with empty bottles to reduce the amount of concrete they’ll use to make a new sidewalk.
It is indefensible, and the makers of the videos refer to paid Western shills/cheerleaders as “white monkeys”.
That’s the reason why China is funding the fetanyl crises and the chaos in Democrat states, so people like you will say, “CHina’s system is so much better than the US.
The age-adjusted suicide rate the US in 2021 was 14.04 per 100,000 individuals.
The study in China CDC Weekly also showed that while the overall suicide rate in China declined from 10.88 to 5.25 per 100,000 during 2010 to 2021
China is far lower at suicides than America.

The manipulation of their currency, the population control, lack of innovation. All this adds up to the feet of clay and the coming collapse of China. Throw in the culture of cutting corners and it’s a complicated recipe for failure. At least in America we have the chance to turn things around. China has zero possibility of course correction.
There is a different lack of freedom in the US.

An education can be obtained from ‘serpentza’ , ‘ADVChina’ or ‘The China Show’ on yt, if you are receptive. Serpentza started out 14 years or so ago as an advocate for China. “China, How It Is” is a popular theme from his early videos of a decade ago.
He/They have visited every provonce/state in China on a motorcycle and met the locals.
He/They are biased against but they have valid personal reasons. The CCP peeled back their rose colored glasses and stomped on them, then made them eat the broken shards.
