U.S. Senator Tim Scott, the highest-profile Black candidate in the 2024 Republican presidential race, has blasted his rival Ron DeSantis, Florida's governor, over the state's newly adopted Black history curriculum, saying "there's no silver lining" in slavery...Scott joined a growing chorus of critics of Florida's new standards that require public school students to be taught that some slaves developed skills that "could be applied for their personal benefit."

Every elected Black Republican eventually disappoints.

Tim Scott has publicly sided with Vice President Kamala Harris and the Radical Left Congressional Black Caucus.

Why is it so painful for American Blacks to admit that an average USA slave in 1860 had a higher standard of living than most Free Blacks in 1860 Africa?

Please just go away. You yourself are a product of former slave ancestors that learned skills during their captivity.

Tim Scott is a great example of a Republican politician not having a clue about how weary the base is hearing the past sins of slavery. Tim, put a cork in it and go get a real job.

I can't speak about 1860 but I can speak about current times. I've traveled extensively in Africa and have had contact with...have interacted with...many “native” Africans. I'd wager the clothes on my back that every one of them,if allowed to settle here, would be better Americans than are many of our blacks. They'd be harder working...more law abiding...and *much* more grateful.

There is an interesting story in an 1800s Harper’s Magazine of a slave who was a much sought after race horse trainer and the very good life he had.

Has Sen. Scott ever made a statement about CRT?

He should know better than to believe choreographed Democrat Party/media freakouts.

This is from MSN. I would like to read Tim Scott’s precise comments in context before condemning him.

Re: "This is from MSN."

No.

It is from international news service Reuters.

MSN.com paid Reuters for the Tim Scott story.

Reuters is slightly better than MSN. Thanks for the clarification.

He is done.

I don’t remember a year in which every Republican candidate for president doesn’t want the nomination.

DeSantis was dumb to phrase it that way. He should have known how that would be turned against him no matter what the underlying truth is. Between this and the 6 week ban on abortion which is shorter than most Americans support, he’d be toast in a general election. Fortunately, DeSantis has no shot at getting the nomination anyway because Trump is trouncing him.

TBH, I’m glad Tim Scott has no shot either. He’s an anti MAGA RINO I’d really like to see primaried and replaced in the Senate.

I know for sure, that is true. I worked with a number of them in California.

Here is a link to the new curriculum: https://www.fldoe.org/core/fileparse.php/20653/urlt/6-4.pdf

The “offensive” statement is one sentence on page 6 out of 216 pages. I don’t find it offensive within the overall curriculum, and I don’t see how the statement is false even if it makes some people uncomfortable.

No, he doesn’t want to be called a house N.

Don’t fret though, the FR simp brigade is starting to pimp Byron Donalds for VP.
He has two qualifications, black and can speak English…that’s it.
Oh, he’s been arrested twice. Drug dealing and bank fraud.
Self loathing whites, especially women, are destroying our country.
