A Georgia Lowe’s employee attempted to stop shoplifters making off with $2,100 amount of merchandise, leaving her unemployed and with a black eye.
Donna Hansbrough, 68, saw three people loading up a shopping cart at a store in Rincon, about 30 minutes north of Savannah, and then leave without stopping to pay, police said.
The veteran employee then grabbed onto the cart allegedly being pushed by Takyah Berry — who slugged the older woman in the face three times, according to authorities. Berry, who was with her uncle, Joseph Berry and another man police identified as Jarmar Lawton, then made off with the goods, the Rincon Police Department said in a news release.

The folks that run Lowe’s and the folks that run Home Depot have this figured out and it is very simple.
Shoplifting cost less than dead or injured employees.
And they are either insured for or can write off shoplifting losses. Steal away.
And we all pay for it through higher prices. Free Republic has really gone down hill.
Unlike many of you here, some of us were raised by Christian parents that instilled a sense of right and wrong in us. We weren’t raised by heathens, apparently like many of you were.
Maybe if Lowes had PROPER security in their stores they would save millions and have enough to pay employees decent wage.
You think it easy to stand around and watch losers steal in 5 minutes more then you make in one month? You think it is so easy to do that?
Wait ‘till “normal” people start lifting stuff. It is not going to be long. We are being played for suckers..
Think how much money Lowes coud save by just letting everyone steal whatever they want? They would not need to spend money on security systems or check out people.
I’ve always thought paying should be optional escpecially when it’s a “small business”. They don’t really care do they? They just “write it off”.

Far easier than a trip to a hospital or morgue.
You think that they won't end up with dead or injured employees when they declare their store a criminal sanctuary zone? Think about it. It's only a matter of time.
When will the “normies” start to get in on the action?
Most the people stealing at Home Depot are white.
What is her platform? Killing vampires?
When criminals realize they have free reign in those stores, do you think employees will be safe?
When criminals find out employees can’t fight back, they will be able to do whatever they want to those employees.
Don't blame this om COvID. This was going on for years.
I had a friend who worked at Home Depot in the 90s, and he had to watch contractors walk out with several dollies worth of stuff.
When I step onto an airplane, I do not expect the stewardess to fly the plane and I do not expect the pilot to hand me a bag of peanuts.
Instead, both the stewardess and pilot should do the job they are being paid to do.
In a retail store, the sales associate should focus on sales, and the loss prevention specialist should focus on loss prevention.
If Lowe’s wants all their sales associates to work on loss prevention, then they should train all their sales associates in loss prevention and pay them the going rate as loss prevention specialists.
Criminals should take over our society, and business and government should do everything they can to support them.
Eventually they hired and armed guard. And it continued to get robbed, while the armed guard sat there watching.
