The U.S. Department of Energy on Friday proposed energy efficiency standards on water heaters it said would save consumers $11.4 billion on energy and water bills annually.
The standards on residential water heater efficiency, which are required by Congress, have not been updated in 13 years. Water heating is responsible for roughly 13% of both annual residential energy use and consumer utility costs, the DOE said.
The proposal would require the most common-sized electric water heaters to achieve efficiency gains with heat pump technology and gas-fired water heaters to achieve efficiency gains through condensing technology.

To think that resistance heating of cold water intake (what an electric on-demand water heater would do) isn’t a VERY expensive and high installation cost thing if you’re going to want anything beyond using water that the system has already heated and stored is ludicrous. You’re talking about 220-240V at 50-60 amps at least, maybe more depending on how well the system is required to heat on-demand water.
If you have the space, buy the new one and store it.
Not a bad idea.
I was discussing that just yesterday with someone who wasn't really clear on the fact that we're being assaulted daily by a prescribed operation intended to both divide the country and destroy society.
None of it is by accident. As they implement AI to do their dirty work, the frightening prospect is that a true majority support this and all the other BS.
By then it's too late.
BINGO!
A boondoggle that consumes endless amounts of tax dollars without benefiting the tax payers.
Or dust. Whichever you prefer.
Sounds like cold showers coming our way.
BS. COST MORE MONEY TO REMODEL YOUR HOME, TO PUT IN NEW MORE EXPENSIVE APPLIANCES. Remember Obumber’s low-flush toilet you had to flush twice? The same goes for the new clothes washer. They already screwed up laundry products by taking out the phosphates. Then put expense rinse aids on the market for dishwashers.

Why do you need extra scents for your clothes? Plain old dryer sheets work kist fine. I prefer them to liquids. They store for a long time. And no liquid laundry soap is not mostly water, I’ve a stock of 1-year-old laundry soap, name brands, that are as good as the day I bought them on sale for 99 cents. Kids think they can eat pods.
Vinegar has been reduced to 4% acidity, good for glass or window cleaners, BUT NOT CANNING, you need 5% white vinegar for pickling.

Long-term medicine shortages likely after tornado damages Pfizer plant (EF3)
I’ve got reports of 50,000 pallets of medicine that are strewn across the facility and damaged through the rain and the wind,” Stone said.
The plant produces anesthesia and other drugs as well as nearly 25% of all sterile injectable medications used in U.S. hospitals, Pfizer said on its website. Erin Fox, senior pharmacy director at University of Utah Health, said the damage “will likely lead to long-term shortages while Pfizer works to either move production to other sites or rebuilds.”

Remember peasants, "Thank government it's Friday!"
This crap will continue until enough of us refuse to comply.
Thus, no hot water for you!
Thank you for the detailed post.
The percentage of people applying themselves like you did is very, very small.
You contemplated, researched, and applied action.
You’re in the top 5% of people by just doing that. :)
News dump.
Stop lying to me.
You are correct sir. They ARE lying to us, AGAIN, or maybe I should say, STILL.
For the US it was 81 & 77. I think it’s decreasing.
The word, not poop.
GREEN ENERGY IS COSTLY, AND WASTEFUL
THE FIRST DAY IN OFFICE JOE BIDEN SHUT DOWN THE OIL AND COAL PRODUCTION IN THE USA. THOUSANDS WERE THROWN OUT OF WORK, WHICH RIPPLED DOWN TO $7.00 GAS, AND HIGHER FOOD COST. https://gailhonadle.substack.com/p/green-energy-is-costly-and-wasteful

We are converting everything to electricity. The grid isn’t large enough.
If these cost estimates don’t hold, the heads of the EPA and their immediate family need to face a 20-year prison term.
Sounds like something from Fred “dimBulb” Upton.

Not.
