ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- A tornado heavily damaged a large Pfizer pharmaceutical plant in North Carolina on Wednesday, scattering medicine and other debris around the complex.
Pfizer said its large complex in Rocky Mount was damaged by a twister that tore through Nash County.
"We are assessing the situation to determine the impact on production," the company said. "Our thoughts are with our colleagues, our patients, and the community as we rebuild from this weather incident."
A Pfizer employee who spoke to ABC11 said it happened in a span of 60 to 90 seconds and there was no time to think. He said first the lights flickered inside the facility and then he said it sounded "like a bomb went off.
The worker said he and his group immediately ran to a designated safety area.
The worker said he was too shaken up to speak on camera. He said he believed everyone in his crew was safe.
There were no serious injuries, Pfizer said.

So, God drove an EF3 through a Pfizer factory. I feel bad for the folks impacted, but I pray the message sent, has been received.
“Wiped clean by the wrath of God.”
Is that the facility where Phizer keeps all their Covid vaccine ‘data’??
They will probably just pick the pills out of the wreckage and sell them for a higher price due to a claimed shortage as the result of the tornado.
This plant is where I worked from 1979 to 1992 in QA and manufacturing.
This facility was built by Abbott Laboratories, became part of Hospira in 2006 and then sold to Pfizer.
The main facility is not damaged per se, however the automated high rise warehouse was flattened.
The 14 story tall robotic warehouse had over 40,000 pallet spaces. The warehouse floor was laid down and had to be level to within 4mm.
I helped execute the validation of the computer controlled system that kept quarantine and finished goods next to each other, only separated by the computer.
This warehouse was also a major distribution center for the east coast.
AMEN!
I’m beginning to like this climate change
He didn’t listen for the train coming
I have been in tornadoes and hurricanes and they BOTH sound exactly like a train!................
I’m sure the trillions of $$ they got when they forced the world to be vaccinated with an experimental concoction that did practically nothing to stop people from getting the virus will cover the losses of the plant
Apparently only the warehouse was heavily damaged, and not production facilities................
Should the area around this property be classified as a bio-hazard and be sealed off?
All the druggies in the area will clean it up free of charge...............
I think it housed IV’s and such
I’m glad for your detail that just the warehouse, not the manufacturing plant was damaged. Rebuilding the plant to FDA cleanliness standards would be a major project which the paper pushers could slow down further. Here the problem sounds mostly like loss of significant inventory and that their supply chain distribution for replacement production will be less efficient until the high tech warehousing can be restored. There has been a significant shortage of local anesthetics in US for over a year, the predicted end of which has kept being pushed back to a year ahead or now. Pfizer is one of the major manufacturers that have been affected and it sounds like this warehouse loss is likely to make the shortage worse. I’ve finally read admissions somewhere that repurposing Pfizer resources away from prior priorities to covid vaccine production is what caused the shortage. It’s kind of hard as a Dermatologist to biopsy or remove skin lesions without local anesthetics, yet I’ve come close to running out of that a couple times the past year. This is apt to make the problem worse.
Phew! Now the vaccine addicts can rest easy knowing they can still get their 107’th booster shots lol
An act of God.
