Exhausted working woman cries in TikTok video

Feminism is the reason that it now takes two incomes to put food on the table. Women flooded the workforce and diluted wages and now they have to slave away in a cubicle somewhere instead of vibing on the beach.

She reminds us that there was once a time when women were not allowed to work outside of their households, and admits that she is more suited for this life than the current one she is living in.

She has absolutely no idea how hard women worked at home then, unless she is thinking about elite women who had domestic servants, which she probably is.

Friend of mine repeated the joke:

Darn that first woman who left home to go out to get a job.

I heard a comment today from a guy who has written about labor markets. He said there will be a continuing impossibility of filling all the vacant jobs (he said even if all currently unemployed people take all available jobs there are I think he said a couple of million unfilled jobs around that would still be vacant.)

One big factor he cited: Former two income households found out during the Covid lockdowns they could get along on one income and have stayed that way and are used to it.

Simple answer: Because the dykes you call feminists and voted for demanded it.

If it were easy, they’d have women and children doing it.

Yep. Sunup to sundown, just like the men had to do. No modern convenience. No washing machines. No microwaves.

Actually, in the 50s a lot of housewives found free time on their hands thanks to the widespread use of affordable modern appliances.

Also, a lot of times, the second income barely covered the additional costs of having both spouses work, when you factor in childcare, extra transportation and laundry costs and costs to eat out as opposed to cooking at home....

At one point, a man with a high school education could get married, buy a house and raise 2-3 kids on his single income.

Then feminism came along, prices went up, lifestyle expectations went up, and a couple with two incomes (and a college education) could get married, buy a house, and raise 1-2 kids.

Then prices went up, taxes went up, a couple with 2 or 3 jobs could get married, buy a house and maybe skip the kid thing.

We are now at the point where a lot of people choose not to have children, can’t find anyone to marry, can’t afford a house, can’t afford an apartment, and have largely given up and just live with Mom and Dad and work at a job they hate. They can’t even pay off the college debt that got them the crappy job they hate in a field for which they never studied.

There are many reasons for this decline, and, sure, we can point fingers and offer criticism here and there. But our society has made choices and they seem to have been mostly bad ones. I don’t think many young Americans are happy with their lives right now.

Having "Mother's Little Helper", helped too.

Back in the day only ladies of leasure vibed on the beach. They ALL worked. One had to be well-off to avoid it.

Double the workforce, halve pay, ruin families.
Used to the man worked all day, the woman raised the kids, tended the house, shopped, and made dinner. After dinner you watched TV, visited friends, did things with the kids, and then bedded down your not as stressed wife.

Now both work all day (if they manage to get the same shifts)
Come home and begin thinking about dinner, laundry, shopping, etc etc... wife is mad because hubby isn’t thrilled about adding half the household chores to his life. They go to bed and she’s tired, possibly mad, and needing to get to sleep to get to work in the morning.

The kids are raised by a purple haired freak with face piercings who piles them up with hours of worthless homework while blaming their poor academic performance on you.

You’ve come a long way baby.

She probably doesn’t even do strenuous work. We had a pretty worthless guy on a roofing crew. One day the boss’s wife wanted to replace him. She talked a pretty good game the night before. She was in tears before lunch.

And wages would rise ...

Not all women should be out of the workforce.

But the woman who wrote this article should be.
