They must take back their law-making powers.
Rule is to make it safe for the idiots that run them inside their attached garages or even their houses. A substantial number of people don’t use common sense with generators, grills, portable stoves, etc and use them inside their homes during power outages.
When a govt thinks it can just outlaw functional useful items on a whim then the people have no freedom at all. The American government has no such power.

I have 2 oxygen concentrators at my home. My generator is used to keep family members alive in the case of one of our frequent and sometimes rural outages. Before old sparky bidet deems my generator and family members as not needed, he may as well declare himself not needed.

Congress is mostly OK with the administrative state running (and ruining) things. In many cases, unelected bureaucrats supplant the functions of our elected representatives. But this frees up our representatives to spend more time fund arising, campaigning and enriching themselves so they are happy to let the agencies do what the legislators should be doing.

I live in Hurricane Country. Lots of people use these generators down here in FL after a storm, when the power could be out for weeks.
What I propose to happen to these regulators would likely get me banned from FR, so I simply won’t say it.
