The article is almost comical. Plant a trillion trees, about the size of the continental US. Ah, but read what the environmentalists say: "And more trees could even increase the risk of wildfires by serving as fuel in a warming world." And: "thinly veiled license to pollute"

And the cost? Who’s going to get rich over this endeavor?

Here’s a clue, GOPeahens, Grasslands convert more CO2 to O2 and H2O than trees do per acre.

It’s imperative to deny climate change activists the argument that forest fires are caused by climate change. Let’s burn down all trees! /s

It can be 15 degrees under normal temperatures for six months,
but give it one day of high temperatures and all that is
forgotten.

I think it’s funny that each of the records just set, were
the highest it has been since...

In other words, it isn’t even the highest it has been.

In the early 1900s, Death Valley had a temperature of
134 degrees one day.

We have never matched that again, but last week when it
hit 128, they made such a big deal about it, that you
would have thought it was by far the highest temperature
ever.

I’m so sick of the non-stop propaganda.

The reality is that the Do-Gooders don’t really care about planting trees.
They want population reduction. Nothing else will please them.

A trillion? I could buy a million. Even several million. But a trillion? Not remotely within the realm of possibility.

"Smoke from Canadian wildfires hung in the air."

The people whom Canadians refer to as First Nations are probably laughing at Canada's refusal to remove underlying brush, allow reasonable timbering, or do controlled burns.

The whole climate change is a hoax. The climate is changing as it always does leaving an ice age.

Eco-fascists don’t care about trees, animals, birds or the environment. They’re 60 IQ morons who will sit in the shade of the trees you plant and get stoned. And when you kick the useless bastards off your property, they’ll whine that people shouldn’t own nature.

Outdoors/Rural/wildlife/hunting/hiking/backpacking/National Parks/animals list please FR mail me to be on or off . And ping me is you see articles of interest.

With around 220 billion trees in the US that means planting about 3 trees for every existing tree. Republican or Democrat I wouldn't trust the government to attempt something like that though I wish I could sell them the seedlings. Never having heard of a tree suffering from gender dysphoria I'd just let the trees reproduce themselves. Does forest management need improvement, yes, but this isn't it.

Well yes, but where is as important as at what cost and who should pay.

If a trillion trees were planted in places in the world where forests are sparse, it would have the same CO2 consuming affect without contributing as much to seasonal wild fires.

Planting a trillion trees in regions that already have good forests WILL likely increase the severity of the seasonal wild fires that already occur there, and by that defeating their CO2 consumption ability.

Full disclosure - I am not a climate alarmist. The science of what on earth consumes CO2 the most - green plants - is well known. It is also known that CO2 stimulates/assists expansion of growth of green plants. More CO2 does translate into increased growth of green plants where growth of green plants is already in progress. Why? CO2 is cosnumed by plants to breakdown the CO2 into carbon and oxygen. They build there structures with the carbon and release a really good bit of the oxygen. They need the CO2 and we need the oxygen. It is said plants are producing about 50% of our oxygen and phytoplankton the other 50% (ocean based life that also uses photosynthesis - like green plants, and also converts CO2 into carbon and oxygen).

I am not sure the oceans’ marine life would be as welcoming of 1 trillion additional acres of phytoplankton as the land based wildlife would with 1 trillion new trees. I made that difference in scale because as far as size goes the oceans have a lot more area than does the land surface the earth.

Spend the money reforming the drainage in flood prone areas. Building dams or supplying AC to old and poor folks without it. Expand the power grid to handle the load. Provide generators or whatever helps the voters who suffer from these disasters.

Instead they spend money paying people to glue themselves to runways and the likes of that teenager crying.

They could do something

Same with gun crimes. Guns will not be banned so they sit on their hands. Improve school security. Lock em up and keep criminals in jail. Charge their parents if they are juveniles.

increase the risk of wildfires

Saltwater algae may be better. It's waterlogged, so doesn't host wildfires. Offshore acreage is practically free and unlimited. Unfortunately, the EPA has determined that the bony-eared ratvoter assfish is at risk of extinction, from free-food diabetes.
