Georgia Supreme Court denies Trump bid to quash Fulton County investigation (Unanimous)
The Hill ^ | 07-17-2023 | BY REBECCA BEITSCH -

The Georgia Supreme Court Monday declined to take up an effort from former President Donald Trump to quash an investigation into his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state.

The unanimous decision from the court’s nine justices was swiftly delivered just days after Trump’s legal team asked the court Friday to block an investigation by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D).

~snip~

Following his loss in the 2020 presidential election, Trump asked Georgia’s secretary of state to “find” another 11,780 votes to launch him to victory.

His campaign also organized a slate of false electors to certify he had won the election in the state.

Willis has yet to bring charges against Trump but suggested a high-profile case could be filed in August.

I’ve been telling people here he’s going to be convicted. He’s too much of a liability to the powerful evil globalist money hungry power-hungry pieces of shit! This is their insurance policy, and I hate to say, but Trump is cooked. Only God by the hand of God, can he be saved from this insanity. And the Supreme Court will punt and not take it if he was to take it all the way to the Supreme Court. That is how corrupt our legal system is now. We are no longer a nation of laws, but a nation a brownshirts and nazi dictators who have their boots on our necks. I can guarantee you, the jury is tinted as hell itself. Trump doesn’t stand a chance. That’s why he’s can only hire mediocre lawyers who are sabotaging his legal defense… no top experience. Lawyers are willing to take his cases to represent him because they have been threatened by lawfare and project 96!. so let me ask you all. Are we willing to go to that courthouse by the thousands in Georgia and peacefully quietly protest?

AnTifa would’ve done it in a heartbeat. BLM would’ve done it in a crying heartbeat. It’s time for the American people to take a stand enough! Trump is doomed he’s not going to get a fair shake. Name one case ever since they’ve been breathing down his freaking neck that he has won. I’m sorry to say but he’s gone zero wins. Someday when air clears out and the truth comes out, it’ll be know as the biggest injustice collusion against an innocent man. I pray for him every day every evening. Every chance I can I read the Psalms where God continue to give David victories against his enemies but for some reason I feel like God is not hearing prayers anymore. I feel like God has removed his hand off anything having to do with America. Please someone tell me that I am wrong, and that God is still listening to prayers of his remnant. Funny how Trump was the only president defending Israel with all his heart and took it upon himself to move Israel’s capital that took guts and yet the American Jewish lawyers and those in the political arena, in DC hate his guts. But whatever they mean for bad God will turn it against them and good for Trump.

What an absolute clown show. You’d do away with courts and judges and name Trump Emperor if you could. Y’all are in the wrong country, and when your excised from the Republic I will say “good riddance.”

I’ve just never seen anything like it. To them, Trump is infallible. He’s incapable of making even the slightest error. He didn’t hire bad people; they were good when he hired them, and then they all stabbed him in the back. He didn’t want to keep Fauci or hire Wray; he was forced to by the evil Senate Republicans. It’s just amazing to me how a NYC billionaire who palled around with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for most of his life has become the darling of people who call themselves Conservatives. They worship a man, not ideas.

I say, if the court jurisdiction was in error, or if civil procedure was in error, why didn’t the judges refuse to hear the argument in the first place?

Say what?

I follow the Article III federal courts on FR, and provide a lot of the information you see regarding which judges are on which cases.

I kind of know what I'm talking about.

You're just some lover of RepukeLicking heterodoxy.

Begone with ye!

Part of the "Court Game" is to maneuver the case or issue into a desired time period.

Simply refusing to hear the case may have upset the planned schedule which was hammered out in a back room somewhere.

"we are literally saying that judges are corrupt"

Yeah, you really seem to know what you're talking about when you make blanket statements about an entire branch of government. Very sophisticated.

Most conservatives would be curious to know how the Left regained control over the Ninth Circus Court of Appeals after Trump wrested control from the Democrats...

It's almost like some sort of memo went out to our "spotlessly apolitical" federal judiciary.

Pretty sure that most of the United States of Banana judiciary proved what it was after the 2020 "election"...

You really believe desanctomonious’s chances improve if they are able to take out Trump? I don’t envy your position, hoping the deep state is successful taking out Trump. I guarantee you desanctomonious will not be POTUS no mater what they do to Trump. desanctomoniuos is in the same boat, hoping the deep state is successful. He’ll never get rid of that stink, and nether will you.

In short, Trump essentially filed a fugitive document in the Georgia Supreme Court. The Superior Court is the proper venue to hear the Writs. Trump is as good at picking lawyers as he is picking Cabinet members.

"Proper venue"? Is that your wording. Looks like to me Trump wanted to expedite the process by bypassing the Superior Court.

And for that you trash Trump's lawyers?

You NeverTrumpers are like little kids with a bumper car.

You see an oppportunity - ANY opportunity - and you rev it up to full speed and bash it into Trump.

Milley was in line.

It was "his turn" - just like the clown who's getting slid in to replace Milley Vanilli.
