You are correct that Trump makes way too many unforced errors but in this case it was someone from the campaign who said it not Trump himself.

However, it will be interesting what Trump will do about this or if the person who said this will apologize

Boo hoo, someone in politics said something nasty about another candidate.

Politics is a blood sport, and not for the meek. What is being said these days is pretty tame to what I've seen from long ago political statements.
