Those are the price in Florida. 4.59 for milk. 3.99 for butter. 4.38 for eggs. And our prices dropped. I don’t see San Francisco as being much more or less.

They blame everything but the national and local Democrats who caused the problem.

National democrats—inflation, regulations, stupid Ukraine war

Local democrats—regulations, taxes, failure to allow prosecution for shoplifting

I lived in SF twenty years ago, the local food marts were pretty pricey even back then.

My local Aldi here in Florida has milk for $3.05/gallon, $3.18 for a pound of butter and $1.23 for a dozen eggs.

The shop lifting tax is 100%, plus re-stocking fee.

Where you shop, geographically in the same town, can make a difference. I did a study while teaching econ at a university in Omaha that bought a fixed “bag of groceries” at downtown urban stores versus a suburban stores. It was the same store chain. As I recall, the urban stores’ bag was 17% higher than at the suburban stores. I asked the managers at the sampled stores what accounted for most of the difference. They all said “Theft”.

It’s that $950 steal limit...

They will have to index the steal limit to inflation. Right now it should be about $1,500.

Democrats may talk a good game about being the biggest protectors and defenders of the poor and middle class against the big bad rich people and their corporations. But give them the reins of power over a city or state long enough and they make it much too expensive to live and survive for everyone except the rich and wealthy.

Witness the top 15 most expensive cities in the United states to live in. All controlled by democrats.

LOL - the denizens of SF, those that are left - are paying for the massive shoplifting that is going on - well SOMEONE has to pay for it - and it certainly isn’t going to be the shoplifters themselves, according to the mayor and DA.

“Inflation has come down from last year”

It hasn’t come down, prices are still rising, just not as fast.

One of my sons works for a major regional supermarket chain. Theft is a huge cost in urban "blight" areas.

Out in the more affluent suburbs, you actually have shoppers guiltily walking back in after going to their cars because they realize they forgot to have the cashier scan the case of water or big bag of dog food they had on the bottom of their cart. This is a nearly daily occurence by the way.

This NEVER happens in the big city stores.

I bought a carton of 18 extra large eggs last week for $1.84 at Walmart. They are $2.04 this week.

Liberals are still trying to blame food prices on inflation and even the war in Ukraine....lol. Inflation numbers by our government don’t include food prices. Plus, when inflation goes down the prices don’t magically go down with it. It just means they don’t rise as fast. How clueless are these liberals?

Earlier today, I heard on the news that core inflation is now around 5%.
These people are indeed liars. They spin the data to get any number they want.
