DeSantis Takes the Lead on Fed Reforms
American Institute for Economic Research ^ | July 6, 2023 | Alexander William Salter

Posted on 07/07/2023 10:12:49 PM PDT by chickenlips

Of all the declared Republican presidential candidates, none has taken a tougher stance on the Federal Reserve than Governor Ron DeSantis. He’s criticized monetary policymakers for permitting rampant inflation. He’s defended the rights of crypto enthusiasts to own and transact digital assets free from heavy-handed regulators at the Fed and elsewhere. And he’s come down hard against a central bank digital currency (CBDC), which poses great threats to financial privacy and freedom.

Except for inflation, these might seem like esoteric policy concerns of little interest to average voters. But the issue profiles are waxing. Americans are increasingly aware just how dangerous the Fed is to national wellbeing. Elected officials, who are supposed to control the government, should absolutely be sounding the alarm about our renegade central bank.

On inflation, the governor’s conventional take is the right one. The Fed’s rampant money-printing “obviously is going to create inflationary pressures,” DeSantis remarked before his formal campaign launch. Since then, he’s also castigated Congress and President Biden for contributing to inflation through excessive spending, which pressured the Fed to monetize the debt. Prominent economists, including Nobel laureates, agree that fiscal follies encourage money mischief. Reforming the Fed and getting spending under control are necessary to protect American households from crippling dollar depreciation.

“but he mirrors”

that’s what I don’t like about Ron-duh, he mirrors. He has no real ideas for thoughts himself about any of this. He follows what he’s told. He even lets his wife wear the pants often.

Ron-duh is no leader, he isn’t even really leading Florida as he could have, passes the buck by shipping illegals around instead of actually dealing with them in some way to help the situation (border restrictions, contaIN THEM, ship them out of country - any of these things he could do to show he sincerely wants to do right by people of the state and country but instead he wastes tax payer money and just dumps problem on some one else)

Also since Ron-duh lied to people of Florida and only sought re-election tbecause he felt like it at the time, what’s to say he doesn’t get bored with being in presidency and move on mid way through?

Can he actually finish what he says he will?

Ron-duh does not seem capable of handling many things at once, Trump at least has proven he can do that and accomplish much of if not all of what he says, hugely better than previous presidents and not evil like some previous and current occupier.

We NEED a leader, Ron-duh isn’t a leader, he is a follower, a mirror.

“Trump will cut their throats.”

How? Be specific. Civil service protections are written in law. Trump can try to get the law changed, but I highly doubt Congress will go along. Then, if something somehow does get passed, it will be litigated for years. And all of this is assuming the Deep State allows Trump to win the election. Which is highly unlikely.

You mean elitists at GOP headquarters like Ronna McDaniel? The Ronna McUseless that Trump endorsed and DeSantis opposed? Good luck with that! Trump loves the elitists at GOP headquarters.

Because the Uni Party/RINO script says to cast you and I as Trump Cultists: Trump Bots: or idiots from the Church of Trump. It’s the scheme to:

isolate the targets (us)
make fun of said targets(us)
eliminate threat of said targets(us)
have friendly media raise your losing candidate to leadership and then cheer him on

This all hinges on the theory of course that the base (us) will accept the beating down and vote for anybody other than Biden or a dem. Oh btw, those trading cards made a bucket load of money for the Trump campaign.

Ron DeSantis is a great governor (Florida is my state), but I’m voting for Trump in the primary and election because I think he was robbed and deserves it. These unjust attacks by some Freepers make me question my decision (as well as the fact that my brother died suddenly a little over a month after taking the “warp-speed” so-called vaccine Trump still pats himself on the back for).

Then DeSantis hasn’t a prayer. Even Mondale did better.

“The 1.4 million Federal employees are the Deep State fuel.
Trump will cut their throats.
DeSantis will study cutting their throats, and fail to achieve the goal.”

No. DeSAntis has results; achieved what he goes after. Trump relies on a big personality and others (whom he picks badly (Fauchi et al).

You have just described what Trump does.(Meatball, Desanctimonious, Walmart Melania etc etc.)

I am very sorry for your loss.

“I’m voting for Trump in the primary and election because I think he was robbed and deserves it.”

One earns it. No one is handed the presidency based on being robbed before. There are no do-overs.

No one seems to want to discuss, debate or analyze this article which was put out by a highly respected institution.

Anyone that knows what the democrats did to Trump for the last six years, and don’t support him, is doing the bidding of the democrats. This is exactly what they want from you.

If DeSantis is anti elitist, when why not come forth with Drain the Swamp, and delineate how he’ll dismiss them — and insist on term limits.

Trump ran on Drain The Swamp. The GOP doesn’t really matter. It is Obama voters who were Independents attracted to that, and that was the victory.

A DeSantis campaign about lower spending and lower taxes means NOTHING when money is created by QE. This is why there is no policy. Independents get that. There is only Drain The Swamp and thus there is only Trump. I will absolutely vote for a Dem if the GOPe denies Trump the nomination. As will most.

Analyzing and debating involves thinking, thinking is hard, so emoting is the default setting with some.

RdS is playing junior high school ball, relatively speaking.

The federal agency juggernaut vs the Florida rowboat — an entirely different challenge.
