Christie surges to high single digits in New Hampshire GOP polls
New Jersey Globe ^ | 6.16.23 | David Wildstein

Posted on 06/16/2023 10:52:05 AM PDT by conservative98

Nearly half of New Hampshire Republicans (46%) wouldn’t vote for former Gov. Chris Christie for president “under any circumstances,” according to a New Hampshire Journal/coefficient poll released today.

Still, Christie has his best performance yet in the first-in-the-nation Republican primary: in a ballot test of seven GOP presidential candidates, Christie is in third place with 9% just four points behind Ron DeSantis.  Donald Trump leads in New Hampshire with 47%.

Christie’s numbers jump to 19% among moderates and 1% among liberals, which means if conservatives don’t vote next winter, the former New Jersey governor has a chance to win New Hampshire.

While 46% of Republican voters say they would never vote for Christie, 40% said they would never vote for former Vice President Mike Pence.  He’s at 5% in the ballot test, followed by Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Tim Scott each at 3%.

But an American Greatness poll of likely Republican primary voters in New Hampshire released yesterday Christie received a modest bounce from his announcement and CNN town hall meeting.  The former New Jersey governor is tied for third with Scott at 7% each.  Trump leads DeSantis, 44%-12%, putting Christie five points out of second – and 37 points out of first.

The American Greatness poll was conducted by National Research, a Republican polling firm run by New Jerseyan Adam Geller.

“The big story here isn’t Christie; it’s DeSantis.  Those who thought I was overselling the problem presented by his rough launch need to rethink it,” said Matt Rooney, the editor of the conservative website SaveJersey.  “We’re still ‘early’ but not that early by contemporary presidential primary standards.  The current strategy clearly isn’t working.”

There is a law, or a proposed law, in California, to make any sort of conversion therapy illegal, therapy to overcome same sex attraction.

Don’t know if that became law, but the fact that some want such a law tells us a lot in view of the topic of this article. Some should be allowed to choose when it comes to sexuality and gender, but not all.

Trump — 47% (+34)
DeSantis — 13%
Christie — 9%

In the last NH poll Christie was in 9th place at 1%; now he is in 3rd and only 4 points behind second place DeSantis. #christiesurge

Areas where Trump is not conservative?

Liberal spending.
Lock downs.
Vax pusher.
Whore monger.

He did come through on abortion. I will give him points for that.

Perhaps if Desantis (13%) was doing better Christie surging to 3rd at 9% wouldn’t be news.

It amuses me that people think Trump is conservative.

Trump doesn't self identify his political philosophy often, but when he does, I believe he simply calls it "common sense".

Also the Jersey Globe is anti-Christie so when they write HIGH single digits they are being derisive and know exactly what they are doing.

The real problem is Ron’s numbers which all the Desanctimonious supporters choose to ignore.

If a fair election happens in swing states, Trump will win.

Trump — 47% (+34)
DeSantis — 13% Christie — 9% Pence — 5%

President Trump leaves Desantis, Christie and Pence groveling in the dust.

For God's sake, Trump is beating the combined score of the sorry threesome by 20 points.

How much humiliation can they take?

Not surprising Republican establishment types prefer one of their own to DeSantis.

If DeSantis finishes third or lower in NH, he'll be gone by or before South Carolina.
