It's time to confront some hard truths. As a conservative, I value truth, even when it's inconvenient. Here's the truth: Donald Trump mishandled highly sensitive, classified information and lied to the public about his authority to do so. This conversation is not something I enjoy, considering he held the position of president. However, the recent indictment against him has left me outraged.
It appears that what the former president did was not just careless but criminal. He stored hundreds of highly sensitive documents that can pose a grave threat to national security if disclosed at Mar-a-Lago with complete carelessness. These documents, containing information on matters as serious as our defense capabilities, nuclear programs and potential vulnerabilities, were allegedly found in the most inappropriate of places -- from ballrooms to bathrooms. His discretion, or lack thereof, in disclosing these documents, purportedly even showing them to unauthorized individuals while stating to them he had no authority to do so, is extremely concerning.
Adding to the puzzle, Trump's alleged measures to keep these documents out of sight defy belief, even purportedly instructing his staff to hide them before federal agents could execute a search. His resistance to surrender the documents, even under a grand jury subpoena, adds to the list of allegations. There is even an accusation that he was not entirely truthful with his own lawyers about his possession of the documents.
The question naturally arises: Why did Trump retain these documents? It seems unlikely that he intended to engage in illicit activities such as selling them to foreign entities. My guess is either an attempt to keep himself in the news with further controversy, or to retain keepsakes from his time in office.

Here’s what Trump actually said yesterday (NOT the Bee):
Trump says he did not want to return classified boxes since they contained “shoes and shirts and everything”
You've gone stark raving mad. As have others.
I used to think Armstrong Williams was smart. This article tells me I am wrong. He hasn’t got a clue of presidential authority for classified information, the controlling law and is instead wallowing in the fake crap being put out by Smith and the media.
I’ve admired Trump since long before he ran for office. Toured Trump Tower decades ago when I was in NYC on business, watched his show, The Apprentice, and was impressed that he treated women as fairly as men.
He was a great president, one of the best. But he isn’t a saint or a God, just another flawed human being like the rest of us. I don’t want him to serve time. But his next presidency seems doubtful at best. Not sure he should be our candidate.

Sorry Democrat- what was that again? I can’t hear you over all that huffing and puffing hyperventilating! Nothing he did was illegal! Go back to DU where you belong!
I'd say to keep some counter-blackmail material on hand to repel Deep State attempts to do to him exactly what they are doing now. He perhaps underestimated their determination.
“...matters as serious as our defense capabilities, nuclear programs and potential vulnerabilities”
Whenever I read something from the media that includes assertions they can’t possibly know, then you understand what you’re reading is just trash.
If there were such serious AND CLASSIFIED details then A) why are they saying it publicly? B) HOW WOULD THEY KNOW? They’re not authorized to review them. Unless somebody has leaked classified information, which should then be what we’re talking about. Who is guilty?
Listen to the narrative, “HUNDREDS of documents.....everywhere!”. It’s my understanding that there’s maybe 100 documents in question. They could fit in one box. So narrative around “moving boxes” being done purely to build a picture in your mind that this was sinister, obstructing, and ESPIONAGE!!
Any honest person knows, this is nothing more than a dictator trying to eliminate his competition, put them in prison. You don’t go from being a POTUS, with rights given to the position by the P.R.A., where you get to keep documents, to CRIMINAL INTENT EPIONAGE punished with (the rest of your life in) prison.
You just don’t do that in an honest legal system. End of story. There’s another person I can think of whom was persecuted by every angle of the establishment, they all hated him and eventually killed him for doing nothing wrong. We live in a different time but the rabid lust for blood hasn’t changed. This is the most powerful position in the world. This is all unacceptable while being completely, transparently, obvious.

Spot on. Any HONEST person, being the key.
We know the NeverTrumpers are NOT honest, but, are simply tools, for the evil DS.
There will be no need for the trial. (And, of course a trial might reveal all the reporting to just be more of the Russia collusion type of lies.)
So, rather to have all the “conservatives” repeating the same stuff the media is reporting. That way it will “prove” how corrupt Trump is...no trial needed.
Fortunately, the MAJORITY disagree with you, as he is polling at 65%, while his closest "competitors" are in the teens.
But, keep rooting for a Deep State win.
The president is the only one who can declassify documents and remove them from the White House. What Senator/VP Biden, Pence, and Hillary did was definitely against the written law. Noone is protecting Biden’s garage. The Secret Service is protecting Mar-A-Lago. What a farce this all is... to keep Trump from winning in 2024.
I don’t think Trump has done anything others haven’t done.
The problem is, the person in charge of documents hates
Trump. They rode his ass continually over these documents.
Trump allowed the FBI into his safe-room, and they found
nothing wrong. After their first inspection they only
told him to get a stronger lock. So he did.
He told them at the time, to come back and take whatever
they thought they needed to. They did in a swat style raid
after tipping off the media.
This is total bull-stuff, and it’s particularly infuriating
to watch people who consider themselves conservatives
falling for this dog-n-pony show.
The deep state, frankly.
Shove it up your ass and seek mental help for your TDS. My God dude!
This isn’t DU!
Armstrong, you ignorant slut.
I always thought this clown was a mental midget who wouldn’t have been given the time of day were he not black. He now confirms it. What a retard. 102 “classified” documents. That’s all Herr Smith claims...and it is probably exaggerated. Not enough to fill.more than 10% of any ONE of those “BOXES!!!” that Smith released photos of to tamper with potential jurors. Yet this retard Williams buys it ALL!
Was this secretly written by Chris Chrissy while eating cheeseburgers?
Stacks of classified material he took as Senator, VP and President stored in his garage in Deleware which is why he goes there every weekend because there ARE NO VISITOR LOGS THERE. No record of who is paying to see classified documents.
I'm literally citing the opinion of the federal court when they ruled on this issue. Clearly that bothers you a lot. To bad the DC Swamp court was so eager to give Billy Boy Clinton a free pass eh? Now its come back to bite the Democrats in the ass.
