For seven years the Democrats have tried to erase Donald Trump from the political landscape. They have done so by caricaturing a lifetime pragmatic liberal and supporter of school choice programs to benefit inner city minority kids as a “white supremacist” and “bigot.” To derail his 2015 presidential run they enlisted the corrupt U.S. intelligence agencies to violate the FISA laws, spy on his campaign, harass its operatives, and finally concoct a phony dossier to portray him as a traitor, colluding with the Russians. They formed a “Resistance” to his presidency and never really accepted the result of his 2016 election
Over the next 7 years the Democrats’ campaign to decapitate their political opposition escalated to include two partisan impeachments – fully half the total impeachments in the nation’s history, and the only two that did not reflect a broad bipartisan consensus but were blatantly political in nature. When these abuses of the democratic process failed, they pursued legislative means to make Trump an “un-person” and eradicate him from public life.
Just before the Republican-controlled Senate voted not to impeach private citizen Trump in February 2021, Chuck Schumer publicly vowed that if the Senate did convict him, as Senate Majority Leader he would hold a vote to block Trump from ever holding public office again. The legal basis offered for such a ban was a questionable interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment, which was designed to prevent leaders of the Confederacy who had engaged in an armed rebellion from holding office in the government against which they had declared war.
The Democrats had no filters for their Trump hatred. They even attacked the deeply patriotic themes of his presidency: the exhortations to put “America First,” and “Make America Great Again.”
Thirteen House Democrats sponsored a bill that would have barred the federal government from naming any buildings or monuments after the former president and would also have prevented him from being buried at Arlington National Cemetery.42 Representative Linda Sánchez (D-California) went a step further and introduced a “No Glory for Hate Act” that would bar Trump from receiving his federal pension, office space, and paid staff, as other former presidents have. Sánchez said Trump’s name should not even be permitted to appear on a park bench.43
As the Biden administration moved into its third year, Trump – now a presidential candidate again and leading all Republican primary contenders by 30 points was targeted by a hailstorm of bogus lawsuits, while Biden and the Democrats ran major campaigns to turn the phrase “MAGA Republicans” into a stigma. A New York District Attorney even pursued Trump at a cost to taxpayers of $250 Million for having Stormy Daniels sign a “non-disclosure” agreement.
In June, the Biden Department of Justice, indicted Trump on 37 felony charges for essentially one allegedly criminal act. The artificial multiplication of felonies meant that Trump was facing a maximum of 500 years in prison. In other words, a death penalty.
At the same time the Biden government was committing these offenses against American traditions, against a man who guided one of the most successful administrations in American history, against the respect Americans reserve for their political opponents and especially their presidents, it was marshalling the powers of the government to obstruct the investigations of a Biden family influence peddling operation that received millions of dollars from adversarial governments – which would normally be regarded as treasonous bribes – to shape American policies to their advantage. Whether this included a favor to our arch enemy China to deliver Afghanistan into its sphere of influence or fly spy balloons over our most sensitive defenses, we don’t know because the Department of Justice is in the pocket of the Bidens and refuses to look.
The assault on Trump is an assault on the security of all Americans, and the gravest threat to our constitutional order. Only the defeat of a rogue Democrat Party in the next election can forestall the ongoing destruction of our country that the Democrats seem determined to pursue. The greatest assets to American patriots in this war are the Democrats’ arrogant myopia and a leader who cannot be intimidated into abandoning his principles or his love for his country.
If the presidential election were held today, Trump would win because he has been tested by fire and earned the loyalty of American patriots of all colors and creeds. The Democrats’ attacks have long ago lost their potency because the selfishness of their goals and their contempt for their fellow citizens has become more and more obvious over time. If Trump is in prison when the election is held as the Democrats intend him to be, he will still win for the same reasons.
He won in 2020
It would be unconstitutional if they do forbid a convicted felon.
This is not true.
In the event of a conviction in the Senate, the Senate is allowed two and only two punishments:
First, removal from office; second, disqualification from future office.
These do not derive from the XIV Amendment clause about insurrection, they are specified in Article I section 3: "Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States"
LOL!
Trump energizes the Democrat base far more than he does his own
The assault on Trump is an assault on the security of all Americans
FR has devolved into spineless microcosm of RINO, GOPe squishes. I am ashamed.
If you really think it is this hopeless than logically you should just off yourself you loser.
That is one Headline that I can BELIEVE.
Wow! Very uncalled for. Everyone has an opinion and I expressed mine!
This site has changed ...
Yes, it has.
Meanwhile, from NYS...
Deep State is getting some practice in before the main event.
The GOP’s real problem is how many people are there like me?
It’s Trump or I’m voting third party. I’ve held my nose my entire life voting for POS GOPe candidates like Romney. Not doing it again. Ever.
The GOP margin of victory in Texas:
2012 Romney: +16
2016 Trump: +9
2020 Trump: +5
Yes, I certainly will.
It seems to be declining over time.
The fundraising target has been reduced substantially and struggles hard to meet the target at the end of each quarter.
When people get called names because anonymous posters disagree with them participation and donations will surely decline.
It ain’t rocket surgery.
