NYC sues New York counties for not taking migrants

New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams on Wednesday announced that the city is suing 30 counties in the state over their issuance of orders seeking to stop the metropolis from sending excess illegal migrants to their territories.

The city has struggled to cope with a massive inflow of asylum seekers as Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott continues his policy of busing illegal migrants to sanctuary cities in a bid to highlight the Biden administration's lax approach to border enforcement.

Adams has faced considerable pushback from upstate communities over his efforts to pass additional asylum seekers on to them, prompting the suit. The city currently shelters more than 47,000 migrants.

"This lawsuit aims to put an end to this xenophobic bigotry and ensure our state acts as one as we work together to manage this humanitarian crisis fairly and humanely, as we have done from the beginning and as we will continue to do," the mayor said, according to The Hill.

The suit contends that the numerous executive orders from the counties represent illegal efforts to stifle the city's efforts to address a statewide crisis, pointing to New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul's emergency order related to the matter.

"While many communities have been overwhelmingly supportive and enthusiastic about welcoming these new arrivals to their cities and towns, some elected officials have attempted to build metaphorical walls around their localities with unlawful executive orders," Adams said.

Earlier in May, a state judge temporarily blocked Adams from sending any additional migrants to Orange County.

NYC decided on their own to be a sanctuary city. The other counties and cities are not sanctuary cities.

Imagine suing someone for not breaking the law. The case law for it will be unfathomable.

"Yes, your honor, we're suing the defendant for not buy crack cocaine. This lawsuit aims to put an end to this xenophobic bigotry against illicit drug dealers and ensure our state acts as one as we work together to manage this humanitarian crisis fairly and humanely."

“NY is a sanctuary state”

Once they start shipping people to other counties in upstate even the few democrats in those counties will vote republican. This will be a good case study to see if this will be a good way to flip a state from democrat to republican. People are already pissed off about the trannies being forced on everyone. Now the migrants are being forced on everyone. We’ll see how far New York Stare goes before they have a real war on their hands. People will only take so much of the leftist policies.

Many upstate counties have become economic basket cases and do not want to pay more in schooling and welfare costs.

These backwater counties don’t have billionaires (and hordes of extremely well-paid yuppies) to tax at NYC income tax rates.

There is also the political point of view. If Republican office holders have say a 5% voter margin they do not what this margin to be inundated by future welfare recipients likely to vote Democratic.

Demographic warfare against the Republican voting base using migrant mercenaries sent by a Democratic mayor will be fought to the maximum possible legal extant.

Why of course you can vote Mr. Black, we’ll just cancel your vote out by allowing visiting white foreigners to vote.

It’s starting to appear that nobody wants those freeloading party bass turds “enriching” our lives anymore You can only stand so many “breakfast tacos” before Montezuma’s Revenge kicks in. Being surrounded by them where I live makes it easy to understand why. We now have non-Native American Indians and Pakis pushing the “veterans” off the good panhandling spots all over town. I feel like I live in a third world country now. Beggers and panhandlers are everywhere. FJB and Dr. Jill should be proud this month of all of the damage they have done to America. The World’s Largest Freak Show. Hell, we’ve even got the UN and the Messican El Presidente pushing America around. I don’t think I can be “proud” about that sh*t.

Article 23 - Public relief

The Contracting States shall accord to refugees lawfully staying in their territory the same treatment with respect to public relief and assistance as is accorded to their nationals.

Article 17 - Wage-earning employment
....
2. In any case, restrictive measures imposed on aliens or the employment of aliens for the protection of the national labour market shall not be applied to a refugee who was already exempt from them at the date of entry into force of this Convention for the Contracting State concerned, or who fulfils one of the following conditions:
(a) He has completed three years’ residence in the country;
....
(c) He has one or more children possessing the nationality of the country of residence.

Article 34 - Naturalization

The Contracting States shall as far as possible facilitate the assimilation and naturalization of refugees. They shall in particular make every effort to expedite naturalization proceedings and to reduce as far as possible the charges and costs of such proceedings.

https://www.ohchr.org/en/instruments-mechanisms/instruments/convention-relating-status-refugees

Article 44 - Denunciation

1. Any Contracting State may denounce this Convention at any time by a notification addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
2. Such denunciation shall take effect for the Contracting State concerned one year from the date upon which it is received by the Secretary-General of the United Nations....

NOTE: I do not trust any politician to end leftist migrant mercenary-based political takeovers who has not called for invoking Article 44 to get the US out from under the Refugee Convention.

And my distrust extends to Trump and DeSantis.

The Refugee Convention must be removed from the Democratic Party toolbox by invoking Article 44.

Here is an idea: how about stopping them at the boarder? Has anyone thought about that?

This is ripe for a counter suit demanding NYC pay the counties all costs for the illegals plus an administrative fee.

Looks like a lot of the Upstate counties that issued declarations are not reassuring them after expiration.

Not sure if that’s because Deep State has decided not to send them up here anymore, or if it’s because our pols and bureaucrats have sold us out.

I’m betting the latter.
