That sinking feeling was available in jumbo-sized quantity in the fall of 2008.
NFN.
The two major parties blatantly conspired to hollow out (i.e., destroy, render meaningless) Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of CONUS.
WTH is MELANIA in that picture????
Jefferson had big words, which often come in handy, e.g. for timely inspiration, but not a lot of personal leadership or mojo.
Took off like a shot from Monticello as Virginia governor when the British finally managed to raid the neighborhood during the Revolutionary War.
Can’t blame him, as he always was more or less (would say merely, but that might not be fair to him) a man of thought and letters. Nevertheless he was no Washington, no Sam Adams, no Paul Revere, no Hamilton, when push came to military shove. So this tree watering quote of his...not sure how wise it is to follow it to the letter, or to make it a battle cry.
Jefferson the distant one further loved and idolized the tyrannical, practically headless brutality that was the French Revolution. Conceding his intellectual genius, there certainly were natural limits to the propriety or trustworthiness of his political perspective or instincts/insights regarding human nature.

Now lets talk about you.
That didn’t take long! LOL
BTTT
blocked consistently by democrats.
The worst part was that he was thwarted by Republicans, many he endorsed and supported. He should have worked with them to find solutions. Instead, he relied on EOs that often got quickly reversed, and mostly disappeared once he left off. The Supreme Court is really one of the few standout and lasting legacies from Trump’s term in office.
OK, good. I believe you're the only one I've ever seen actually try to define what the "Deep State" actually is.
But I call you and raise you.
"Un-elected bureaucrats" are only a subset of the larger "Deep State". The Deep State is the ENTIRE $3+ trillion UNCONSTITUTIONAL portion of the federal government. Actually many "unelected bureaucrats" are constitutionally valid, for instance executive "appointments" granted in Article II of the Constitution.
But we are threatened by the HUGE $3+ trillion unconstitutional portion of the feds (the "Regulatory State" (to which you refer)), unconstitutional Executive Cabinet Departments, most of the Alphabet Soup of the federal government which is unconstitutional like the FDA, the HHS, the FCC, the EPA, etc. etc, and the unconstitutional federal acts and laws.
THAT IS THE DEEP STATE which either we dismantle or will dismantle us.
Man you basically got that right. How few get that. Hope enough to save our beloved Free Constitutional Republic.
Ours will be the same but different.
One factor, and there are many, was that many satellite countries and individuals began to IGNORE, the central govt and actively challenge it. Remember Lech Walesa and the local politicians that supported him because they were jealous of the centralized power?
That is ONE thing we can do. Focus on local and state govt and begin to ignore the fed. We have some evidence of this happening if we will look.
But remember corruption NEVER goes away. Our Founding Fathers designed it to be local so we can deal with it.
Good one.
Are we ready to fight one way or the other, to the death if necessary for our Life Liberty, and Free Pursuits by defending the U.S. Constitution (as written and originally understood and intended) with everything we have including our lives?
with everything we have including our lives?
The above is proper thinking.
I, too, see strengthening the state and local governments and strengthen constitutional state sovereignty as a key to our recovery.
However, a big block to this is federal funding. There is not ONE state that has refused federal funding in the name of independence from the feds. We need at least ONE STATE whose governor and legislature have the guts to put freedom and independence over the buck.
Of course, but you still have to put your life on the line to do so.
One way or the other. Patriots (and "bastards" I guess) must understand that either they will dismantle (and kill) us or we must dismantle (and if necessary, kill, them).
I’m curious……
Will Congress create and pass legislation to deport all illegals for DeSantis?
We already know they wouldn’t for Trump. They fought to stop the wall.
Has Congress changed since 2020?
You presume that DeSantis can turn Congress conservative……how will he do that?
There is not ONE state that has refused federal funding in the name of independence
There are a few colleges that have refused fed money for independence and are doing well.
It is a fashion we need to discuss and create. So far the city i live in has not taken fed housing money for apartments because they understand the impact. I need to attend the monthly council meetings and tell stories.
Again, we have witnessed the demise and bankruptcy of a major world power so it can happen. Prepare for the rebuild now. Nothing changes till the cashflow stops.
100%. Remove all dept except military, return states rights!
That is the end goal.
Your initial post was GREAT! Thank you.
