ALAN DERSHOWITZ's stunning verdict on Donald Trump's indictment: The ex-president's brag to a writer was 'worst sentence he's ever uttered' and every time he opens his mouth he increases his chances of going to prison

The sensational federal indictment Donald Trump faces has stunned one of the former president's most famous supporters, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz.

Trump faces 31 counts over claims he illegally-stored highly classified government documents at his Mar-a-Lago country club. Jaw-dropping details of the charges against Trump were outlined Friday - and he faces a lengthy prison sentence if convicted. Trump will appear before a Miami court on Tuesday.

Dershowitz describes himself as a liberal Democrat, although he has previously spoken out against what he sees as the unfair persecution of Trump.

And in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, he said the new charges Trump faces are exceptionally serious. The author also warned that the former president's usual strategy of going on the attack could land him in even deeper trouble.

Notice that lawyers on all sides are saying things such as this while continuing to ignore Biden’s bragging that he withheld U.S. funding for Ukraine until a prosecutor was fired.

Trump was President for 4 years while this issue was ripe. Nothing was done.

A lawyer who just comments and doesn’t even work for the person involved is not termed “a supporter”

Dershowitz is more of a supporter than most republicans, wake up. Pfffffffffft.

Trump may have been bragging to the writer, but bragging to a writer is not the same thing as lying to the government.

If braggng were a crime Trump would be serving life now. Hs defense should be that he was lying to a "journalist". That's a virtue not a crime.

It was kind of a test run on how to rule from the bench that takes away all the rights of the defendant.>>. that’t why we need FIJA.https://fija.org/

There is ample evidence he misspeaks a lot and uses imprecise language.

Agreed. And prosecutors cherry-pick. That is a given. And prosecutors ignore exculpatory evidence. Also a given. Best thing for him to have done, legally, was not speak to it at all. Of course that ain’t happening.

Is there a FIAA organization (Fully Informed American Association). I’d donate to that in a heartbeat. But (my pessimism kicking in)...then I’d probably find out afterward that it was being run by some CNN or MSNBC hack (even worse than a Libertarian).

Are there any well-known Conservatives associated with this organization?

I don’t think he has a chance against anyone else.

I also think Biden will dump Kamala for…wait for it: Caroline Kennedy. She is the ambassador to Australia.

Trump says outlandish things, that doesn’t mean they are true. Trump needs to STFU.

My take is that the publisher wanted copies of some of the documents that Trump had, but Trump was concerned that sharing them might not be a good idea, since they could still contain sensitive information that could damage the National Security if shared.

So this was his “excuse” for not sharing them. It didn’t mean they were actually “classified”.

He kept documents in a desk in an empty type office of his readily available to the Chinese.

Joe says, “After you give me the money the info is in a desk at the empty office on campus.”

He is such a crook.

From the indictment:

75. During the execution of the warrant at The Mar-a-Lago Club, the FBI seized 102 documents with classification markings in TRUMP's office and the Storage Room, as follows:

You apparently are missing my point. Trump says outlandish things. He brags, uses hyperbole, and media and prosecuters take it as fact. That is the problem. Trump needs to STFU as he is is own worst enemy. Well that, and the people he picks to work for him or to be around that share what he says or stabs him in the back. Overall, he’s a walking, talking, and breathing disaster. On top of that, a narcisist who thinks everything is about him. He’s right in that, which is building up a perfect storm that won’t be pretty.

You know, i appreciate your analysis. It is absolutely refreshing to see someone who can admit biases and still look at the truth. I think you have written something that adequately summarizes the actual feelings of a Jorn

I don’t disagree that Trump was close to Reagan. What distinguished Reagan was his ability to laugh and poke fun at himself. Reagan and Bill Clinton shared a common trait — people just liked them. They were charming and that goes a long way. Trump said what he would do and did what he said. The problem is at some point it is conceivable his ego gets the best of him and he can’t stop trying to prove he is smartest and most important guy in the room. Humility is something that is essential to all leaders. He showed a few signs in the Oval Office. But in his quest to get back there he is acting like a crazed addict. Times have changed. He is the wrong man at this time. Unfortunately there are those who disagree and are willing to burn down the house if they don’t get their way.

Yes, it's very possible that that's what Trump was doing.

There certainly is reasonable doubt about him not classifying.

In court, Trump's defense attorney will ask Trump to clarify.

Trump will clarify.

And then that SHOULD be it.

But, with a bogus jury pool and possibly a bogus judge issuing bogus instructions to the jury, this may have to go to a higher court.

Trump does poke fun at himself.

Trump's current book commercial begins by him saying, "This is Donald Trump, your favorite president".

Perhaps you think he's being 100% serious when he says that.

I think he both believes that AND he's poking fun at himself for believing it.

That's your opinion about Trump. I think he's the right man for the time. And nobody else comes close.

As far as burning down the house, I guess you missed the GOPe side of the Republican Party working against Trump, sabotaging Trump's presidency and other MAGA candidates, and burning everything down for the past seven years.
