On a recent afternoon, Rabbi Daniel Bogard, his wife and three children played football in the backyard of their St. Louis home — a place that carries 65 years of family memories.
"My son sleeps in the same bedroom that I slept in, that my dad slept in," explained Bogard, whose children are the fifth generation of his family to call Missouri home.
But today, Bogard says the state doesn't feel safe anymore "for people like my son."
From a very young age, one of his twin daughters begged for boys' clothes and boys' toys. Then, one day came a startling question.

Rabbi is at war against his own kid and human existence. I won't say "against his God" because his God is a metaphor for ruling class interests.
And this rabbi is at war with us.
Rabbi you didn’t have enough smarts to tell your daughter NO.
Central Reform Congregation
In other words, not a rabbi by any rational understanding of the term. What does the rabbi’s husband think?
Sort of kind of like Josef Mengele.
Well the liberal Rabbi could move to Brooklyn, and be critcizied by the Orthodox Jews there.
There have always been “tomboys” and “sissies” but we didn't wack em up and drug them to death....
We just let them grow up ...normal life is to complicated for some folks I guess...
Rabbi Daniel Bogard
Doing Satan’s work.
There is a HUGH difference in a girl wanting to be a tomboy and transexuals
Its the same way with a lot of my jewish friends, their kids are all freaks or gender baffled. Common denominator? They all had their kids on drugs at a young age. And btw, I’m Jewish too.
When you say drugs, you mean like Ritalin and other “medicines” to control rambunctious children?
My daughter and son are both normal. At 1st grade when they told us our boy wa hyper and needed drugs and to be held back a year we said N frigging O!
Correct!
I wouldn't be surprised if it's like the phenomenon of being a Christian preacher's kid and the extra peer pressure temptation to prove you're not such a stick in the mud. Perhaps a kid being part of a race that's pretty much defined by a religion (even though Judaism isn't really the same thing as being Hebrew) has the similar worry that friends will think she's boring unless she goes the extra mile to prove otherwise.
My jewish friends are easily BULLIED by their freaky kids too...
then move to a place that is trans family friendly. No one is keeping anyone anywhere.
I guess he’s what I’d call a “Nine Suggestions” Rabbi.
Progressive, meaning progressive politics first, and haShem later. Anyone with a more traditional shul experience -- from the various streams of Orthodoxy through the Conservative Movement -- will find the YouTube videos at least uninspired. Perhaps dull.
The main page of their website features BLM and the LGBT flag, and their "about{ page" includes preferred pronouns. Given Bogard's statement that 'Republicans are at war with the trans community,' it is assured that the "inclusive" stance of their synagogue discards those with whom they would disagree. Oy.
The trans argument about being born in the wrong body, when filtered through a theological lens, basically affirms that God makes mistakes, and man is supposed to correct Him. Surgically. And with drugs. And progressive politics.
