Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that his forces stand ready to launch their long-promised counteroffensive to reclaim Russian-occupied territory.
"We strongly believe that we will succeed," Zelenskyy told The Wall Street Journal. "I don’t know how long it will take."
"To be honest, it can go a variety of ways, completely different," he said. "But we are going to do it, and we are ready."

Ready or not, they must attack.
It’s a political imperative.
But to launch armored assaults without air superiority is near certain death.
I didn't mean to pick anything apart .... simply following through with a comment on the topic.
We seem to have a difference of opinion on the quality of leadership that Zelenskyy is providing to Ukraine.
I think there is room to make reasonable arguments on both sides of the issue.
And it is an issue ....
When the taxpayer is asked to pony up ... it’ makes a difference to me what sort of “quality” we are getting for our $$. And at this point I think we are being short changed.
change my mind .... ?
80% of everything is fake and gay. ;-)
Yup. Weapons have found their way to the cartels, Middle Eastern terror groups and African warlords.
I don't think God is really into ethnic cleansing Ukrainian Nationalists.
The OUN was mostly active preceding, during, and immediately after the Second World War. Its ideology has been described as having been influenced by the writings of Dmytro Dontsov, from 1929 by Italian Fascism, and from 1930 by German Nazism. The Organization pursued a strategy of violence, terrorism, and assassinations with the goal of creating an ethnically homogenous and totalitarian Ukrainian state.
May God bless and protect Ukraine and all Ukrainians
God doesn’t choose sides.
what a sign of ignorance your comment displays.
Good grief. Do your homework before making a fool of yourself
“...“Zelensky’s T-shirt emblem is clearly that of the Ukrainian armed forces,” said Paul Josephson, a professor of Russian and Soviet history at Colby College. “This president, unlike others, has been serving with his soldiers, and he is proud to wear it during a time of war.”
“The Anti-Defamation League, a group that tracks extremism and antisemitism in the U.S. and internationally, also reviewed the imagery and told the AP there was no merit to the false claims...
“...Zelenskyy wore a military T-shirt that featured the official emblem for the Ukraine Armed Forces. In its center, the emblem includes Ukraine’s official coat of arms. The image on his shirt did not match the Iron Cross or any hateful symbol, according to historians and extremism experts.
THE FACTS: Conspiracy theorists and Russian propagandists have repeatedly sought to paint Ukraine’s president as a neo-Nazi or Nazi sympathizer during Russia’s attack on Ukraine, even though Zelenskyy is Jewish and has said three of his grand-uncles died in the Holocaust...”

You can get the same news everywhere. Here is that about Zelenskys speech from Polish TV -

The “deep state”, guaranteed, hates Poland.
The U.S. recently had to buy 100,000 artillery shells from South Korea to send to Ukraine. And we are supposedly sending older, stock-piled military machinery, equipment, etc., to Ukraine for them to use. But in doing that, we are depleting our own stockpiled resources, old or not, that could be needed quickly to defend our own shores, at least until production levels for new stuff could be put in place, and ramped up.
The Charge of the Light Brigade
By Alfred, Lord Tennyson
I
Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!” he said.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
II
“Forward, the Light Brigade!”
Was there a man dismayed?
Not though the soldier knew
Someone had blundered.
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
III
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of hell
Rode the six hundred.
IV
Flashed all their sabres bare,
Flashed as they turned in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wondered.
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right through the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reeled from the sabre stroke
Shattered and sundered.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
V
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volleyed and thundered;
Stormed at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell.
They that had fought so well
Came through the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.
The poem was written after the Light Cavalry Brigade suffered great casualties in the Battle of Balaclava. Tennyson wrote the poem based on two articles published in The Times: the first, published on 13 November 1854, contained the sentence "The British soldier will do his duty, even to certain death, and is not paralyzed by the feeling that he is the victim of some hideous blunder," the last three words of which provided the inspiration for his phrase "Some one had blunder'd."
The Ukrainian counteroffensive will be a major blunder, escalating the intensity of the war and inviting even greater death and destruction to no good end. The Ukrainians hope to achieve a better position from which to negotiate. Instead, they will demonstrate the hopelessness of their position. The only ones profiting from this war are the Ukrainian oligarchs and the US military-industrial complex.
The proof is in the war.
a reminder:
Zelensky is Jewish
“The proof is in the war.”
Well then ....
That put’s that baby to rest.
I know I feel like I’v learned a lot here.
Thanks for elevating the debate up and beyond
simple platitudes and talking points.
I know my understanding of world events has been nurtured and
expanded. And I look forward to many more such enlightening exchanges.
So what? Is a practicing Jew?
Boleslav Kapulkin, a spokesman for Chabad Lubavitch in Ukraine, said that he is under the impression that Zelensky converted to the Christianity of his wife and children.
