Trump the COVID Cuomosexual

Who says bromance is dead?

Our ever-fickle ex-prez Donald Trump has found a new fave in an old enemy: disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, on whom he basically showered praise from his Truth Social account for his handling of New York’s COVID crisis by contrasting it favorably with that of chief GOP rival Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis.

And Cuomo, a founding member of his own fan club, kindly reciprocated, tweeting that “Donald Trump tells the truth, finally. New York got hit first and worst but New Yorkers acted responsibly. Florida’s policy of denial allowed Covid to spread and that’s why they had a very large second wave.”

But as sweet as it is to see this bipartisan crush flowering, it’s important to remember a few key details.

On the most basic measure of COVID outcomes, age-adjusted deaths, Florida did far better than New York: Per the CDC, the Sunshine State saw 245 deaths per 100,000 residents, New York almost 312.

And DeSantis managed this without any of the terrible damage Cuomo’s clampdowns did to businesses, schools and life here in general (or the excess deaths they caused).

New Yorkers know it, too.

They left the state in droves, and Florida saw its population bloom and its economy boom.

This isn’t about the facts, of course.

Trump’s trying to hide his own record on COVID — letting Dr. Anthony Fauci & Co. push the nation into needless, endless, harmful lockdowns — from primary voters while slamming a big threat.

Cuomo’s embarked on what has got to be the most chutzpah-laden rehabilitation tour in American political history (and he has some stiff competition).

I did not have thoughts put in my ear by the article because I didn’t even read the article. I listed to Trump’s message in his own voice and words.

You have circular arguments and decipher intent between the spoken words that can only be heard by one as intelligent as you think you are.

Have a very good day. I’m moving on to more important matters now.

Oh, your tagline. I usually consider those rhetorical.

But ok, here goes.

“Do you really believe Trump when he says Cuomo did better,”

Missing context. Better at what exactly?

and DeSantis will raise taxes by 23%?”

I don’t know, do you? It hasn’t happened yet. How could anyone know? I would hope not.

None of the geniuses attacking Trump seem to notice this thing is bringing attention to what Cuomo did.

1. The American people are in a different state of mind now, compared with 2-3 years ago. They are open to accepting the corruption as they revisit what Cuomo did.

2. Trump’s comments will have no bearing on Cuomo’s prosecution and conviction.

Andrew Cuomo, on whom he basically showered praise from his Truth Social account for his handling of New York’s COVID crisis by contrasting it favorably with that of chief GOP rival Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Trump described Cuomo's death number as the fourth worst. He referenced Cuomo, saying "even Cuomo", using the adverb "even", which in the English is a word "used to emphasize something surprising or extreme" (Oxford).

Trump did NOT shower praise on Cuomo. He identified Cuomo's death numbers as the fourth worst and he basically called Cuomo extreme, as in extremely bad.

I think your distortion and the unfair and unbalanced distortion is worse than the bogus stat (and it was a bogus stat)that Trump used.

DeSantis has admitted that he was wrong about the lockdowns and any mandates. Trump has yet to admit that he was wrong. I hear no remorse from Trump or admitting he was wrong, just finger pointing at DeSantis.

I understand the English language. In fact I make a living with my language skills.

Good. So then you agree that the NY Post's distortion of what Trump said is as bad or perhaps worse that the dumb stat (and it was dumb) that Trump used?

For example, Trump did not "shower praise" on Cuomo, as the NY Post said.

*correct to the last line of my post in parenthesis*

I think your distortion and the unfair and unbalanced distortion (from the NY Post) is worse than the bogus stat (and it was a bogus stat)that Trump used.

As I said elsewhere on the thread, I didn't read the Post article, I was only speaking to Trump's spoken words. He certainly did not shower praise on Cuomo.

DeSantis did a very fine job handling the Covid response, though flaws in his decisions can be found in hindsight. Cuomo did the singular worst job in the country in the role of Governor and should literally be in prison for manslaughter of thousands.

Finally, Trump is sticking up for the lockdown! He should promise four more years of lockdown if he gets reelected.

Trump/Cuomo 2024 would be a great ticket. And now that Trump lives in some other state, they could run together. Landslide.

Ready for a bunch of brilliant comments that ignore the fact that Trump now favors the way Democrats handled Covid.

Why should Trump be afraid to say it?

No it wouldn’t. It would be accurate. DeSantis is currently Trump’s biggest rival so Trump is attacking him.

Praising Democrats and their policies to attack him. So, now we know Democrats and their policies are better.

I think part of the fear of not nominating Trump is that he would actually endorse Biden over DeSantis

If Trump endorses Biden over DeSantis, then Biden is better.

“So, now we know Democrats and their policies are better.”

No we don’t know that, Trump is just saying that because he wants to attack DeSantis.

You need me to connect the dots for you? By April 2020, the infamous tik tok dancing nurse trend started. Clearly, they had plenty of time on their hands. Hospitals cashed in on covid, receiving lucre for “cases” incenting the practice. Hospital ships empty is a obvious red flag for anyone. Sending elderly people to die alone in a nursing home was cruel and preventable. The Never before restrictions on healthy people. All of it. You want to know what he should of different? Literally everything.

You are the one who said ‘So, now we know Democrats and their policies are better.’
