Republican presidential candidate and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said this week that former President Trump’s taunts regarding his last name are “petty” and “juvenile.”
“I think it’s so petty. I think it’s so juvenile. I don’t think that’s what voters want,” DeSantis told Jack Heath on “The Pulse of New Hampshire.”
Trump recently mocked DeSantis for the pronunciation of his last name and referred to the Florida governor as “Ron DeSanctimonious,” a nickname the former president frequently uses.
DeSantis told Heath that Trump’s behavior is one of the reasons why he lost the 2020 presidential election.

I can’t believe no one, not even the Trump-hating media, has made a big deal out of Trump’s epithet of “meatball”.
But then, maybe like me, most of them didn’t know until now it was a pn “ethnic slur”.
And of course, the victim is conservative so it’s no big deal….
Rob DeSaster complains about the heat in the kitchen…
While the DeREEeeeimonious supporters complain about everything.
They seem nervous.
He doesn’t touch Tim Scott or Nikki Haley. He knows better.
Point well taken !
Total bilge.
Trump has a passive-aggressive definition of “disloyalty”. Not speaking up and promoting Trump for President is “disloyal”.
That is a passive issue. Active would be openly disparaging Trump, which RON never did.
That's like Southerner having his feewing's hurt because he was called "Grits"...or a New Englander called "Clam Chowdah."
What the hell have we become?
If the Meatball is the greatest, why is he polling in the teens?
The easiest accomplishment in highest-level US national politics is for a new President to be reelected for a second term.
Trump couldn’t do that, but he expects us to believe he could be elected while not holding any office.
(My prediction: he will be nominated in 2024 and then lose to whoever is the Dems candidate.)
“Voters love it because it’s fun”
Which proves society is really childish and classless.
Once upon a time, in public people including celebrities were expected to act what today is often called “professional”, but it’s also polite, dignified, and adult and mature. Apparently today, since only that word seems to make an impact, that is the only place where maybe you have to behave - at work. But it used to be everywhere.
Donald T. Rump. Everyone should have a nickname that we can laugh at.
Trump can no longer read the room
Indeed, we need to stop getting upset over “ethnic slurs”, but that is the real trouble people have. Not words as much as those unPC slurs. Indeed none of it is mature and professional. Better to leave that childish out altogether, but yes, I wish people would stop demanding people’s heads over a “slur”.
What a crybaby!
The frikken country is being destroyed. Do you honestly think "polite, dignified, and adult and mature" are relevant at this point?
What Trump is doing is needling his opponents without permanently damaging them. And it works.
Time has long past that we need to worry about being "polite, dignified, and adult and mature."
This country is in the midst of a civil war with Woke Marxist Democrats and you are worried about "polite, dignified, and adult and mature"???
What in the world are you talking about?
Quote
He’s constantly playing victim.
..
Your FBI helped..
But the Woke revolution in America has destroyed all of that.
What is needed now is the truth and freedom of speech. And given the Left's obsession with feelings, I think it's time to start insulting everyone the way Don Rickles would.;-)
blah blah blah...
an offensive tone is EXACTLY what is called for.
and AMERICA knows it.
scr3w political and social correctness... we are not amish. and an AMISH candidate could not be elected nor should he be.
DeSantis is right. It’s juvenile and it’s not clever or funny. If people think Trump helps himself with this sort of thing, they are sadly mistaken.
A little humor in politics is GREAT. I love the nicknames.
